Pittsburgh...great fanbase there.
O.K. so I am bored, bare with me...
So taking into account how badly the city of Seattle was screwed out of their team (essentially, outside of refusing the new arena), and Las Vegas desperately wanting a team (even though that seems ill-fated for controversy with the amount of sports gambling in L.V.) which cities in the East do you think could possibly support an NBA franchise in order to even out the expansion? (I understand these are tough economic times, but hypothetically) Cities, Provinces, Mascots & the like. Silly responses (and by the look of the board these days that goes without saying) accepted.
I was thinking Pittsburgh and maybe Buffalo (however three pro franchises might bog them down too much), maybe Baltimore?
no , no more expansion . nba need fewer teams.
I agree to an extent, but Seattle IMHO deserves (or at least should have) a team.
Even if the NBA gave thought to getting a team in Seattle or Vegas, it wouldn't be about expanding the league. They'd either contract a current team or if they start two new teams, they'd re-align the league so that a team like Memphis or New Orleans went back to the East. I agree that the NBA needs no expansion. They need contraction. Financially and talent dilution are both bad enough.
after the disaster in the All Star game LV hosted, i don't think they'll be getting a team anytime soon
I agree about Seattle. They move them to OKC and name them the Thunder... what a joke.
A cruel joke. And the name 'Thunder' just keeps making me think that they're a Junior School soccer team, or the ugly girl dance squad at a High School.
bandits would have been a better name on all levels
Well, both Memphis and NOLA would be in much better shape in the east. Seems to benefit all parties. A fine idea, let's go with that plan.
I liked the 'Barons'. Pretty distinct.
What went so badly? I don't remember anything particularly horrible pertaining to that ASG.
