the draft im more worried about the team this year...the MLB draft is such a crap shoot that being a 1st or 2nd rounder doesnt mean a damn thing. I read that of a teams 50 players that it drafts in a given year, on average only about 5 will ever see atleast one game in the majors.

While the Rangers have a deep farm system, reality is that a majority of those guys wont do jack at the major league level. I hope JD doesnt hold on to alot of those guys too long
Doesn't make the draft any less important. When the Rangers start shopping for missing pieces at the trade deadline, what will be our number one bargaining chip? The stacked farm. We wouldn't have nearly as much chips to deal if they had ty drafts. The future looks bright because of ... past drafts.

yes, the draft is important...my point is the media and the team build up these guys when there drafted as to how great they are when reality is that the chances of them panning out are slim

Rangers next pick was Tommy Mendonca 3rd baseman from Frenso St...

He should fit in nicely with this team as he set the D-I record for K's

Not sure who that is, but apparently a constant the last few years is that we have had somebody who will strikeout at a crazy ratio.

Brad Wilkerson, Chris Davis, now this guy is gonna be our future at that "position"

Over the past few weeks after losses i keep telling myself that this team is about to come back to earth but they keep responding...however, mounting injuries with Ham, Frankie, B-Mac, Harrison have me worried.

I hope JD doesnt trade away prospects for spare veteran pitchers like the Rangers have done in the past like Todd Stottlemyer, Adam Eaton, Scott Erickson

Todd Stottlemeyer was a stud when the rangers traded for him.

There will be decent veteran pitchers available but htey need to be the right ones.

Pitch to contact, ground ball sinker pitchers.

Derek Lowe would have been the perfect pitcher from this team and ballpark. Sinker ball pitcher, 200+ IP, never injured. He signed for 4 yr $60mil with the Braves this past offseason

You going to Six Flags? And then there's always the Fort Worth Zoo. I think it closes at 6 on Saturdays.

How often do you see a 1-0 game in Arlington? Well I'll take it! And the Halos lost 11-1, so our lead is back to 4.5 games.

as ty as the Rangers offense has been the past few weeks, i cant believe the Rangers havent really lost any ground in the division. however both Seattle and the A's have crept closer to the Rangers as both teams have stepped up their play

Damn Dodgers are coming into town with their stingy pitching so Rangers pitchers will need to keep them in check

Oh yeah, Derek Lowe would've been awesome.

Him and Millwood together and I would've gauranteed you the Rangers make the playoffs, and with as clutch as Lowe is, probobly getting to the ALCS.

They've gotta let a guy like Dave Duncan pick pitchers for em.

Mike Maddux if he's that guy, should be given a long term contract, cause I'm impressed with what he's done.

IMO, that was one of the reasons I was counting out the Brewers this year due to the loss of two aces and Maddux. Yet they are still in first. Go fig.

Yeah the Dodgers are a tad of a paper tiger IMO, they have no true number 1 and their bullpen is shaky.

Their offense is winning them games, and damn, how good will it be when Man Ram gets back...

Rangers bats have GOT to wake up.

Ranger's bats are due for big games and it could come at the perfect time for this next series.

Our bullpen is deep- Oday, Jennings, Wilson, Guardado, and when Frankie comes back Wilson can go back to SU. If they can all stay healthy I see no reason why we can't take the American League West easily.

I'm more worried about Seattle than the floundering Angels at the moment but anything can happen in baseball and Oakland is not too far behind yet.

I'm still pissed they put Padilla on waivers, but maybe it was a good wakeup call for Vicente.

FYI Ian Kinsler did an interview with Jim Rome yesterday, it is worth checking out...http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4252438

Dodgers always suck in Interleague. I'll be rooting for the Rangers except for this weekend. Anyone but the Halos.

no dodgers suck against any team other then in their own division (yep those 26 wins sure help their record)

    rangers 4-0 in interleague play

    make it 6-0 soon
