With his ty history of free throw shooting and his massive upper body strength,

why does DHo go up like a pussy when he catches the ball under the net? He doesn't even try to get an attempt off. Amazing.

He could get so many more easy dunks if he would just keep the ball high. The fact that he always has to swing the ball down to his knees before going back up is inexcusable.

Shaq pretty much made a legendary career out of catching a ball under the net and going up strong.

The dude is catching the ball 2 feet from the basket on lob passes over his defender and getting punked by the weakside defender....in crunchtime!! Those shoulders must just be for show.

he isn't as strong as he looks, due to his weaker base down low..

he also isn't comparable to Shaq at all, so people need to get off that..Shaq had post moves, Shaq had a legendary killer instinct, Shaq was a great passer, and Shaq was much stronger in general..

Howard needs a lot of work..

Stan shouldn't have had him in the game for the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter. Stan should know that Howard is a ty FT shooter and he needs to get him the off the court when the other team is going to foul them and put them on the line.

The dumbest thing this guy does is bringing the ball back down after he gets a rebound or catches a pass. That's textbook they teach you in JV basketball if you're a big. HOLD THE BALL UP HIGH AND DONT BRING IT BACK DOWN.

Patrick Chewing needs to get on the ball.

The answer is "yes" either way.

D Howard always treats his games as the actual games he played in his childhood, so he never shows any tensity or nervousness in his games but this kind of emotion may also play negative roles sometimes. Engagement is needed once the game is pushed to crunch time, but D Howard still considers the court as his backyard at that time while it has already turned into a war zone for Kobe Bryant. Hedo is more like a teamleader than Howard IMHO, Howard was just like a big baby last night, especially when he got fouled wildly by Fisher but just headed to the line meekly without any words or behaviours. At least he should have reported with some dirty words to Fisher and any other Laker that committed foul on him, but he just acted as if he were playing in LA instead of his home court.

His real problem is his need to catch the ball then drop to dribble it before jumping for a dunk. He could easily have gotten 4 or 5 FGs if he caught it high and immediately went for a dunk Ewing has his work cut out for him

Josh Howard is more than a role player, that's why the Suns should knock the door of Dallas to seek such a deal, through which they would get rid of two faded stars in Shaq and Amar'e for Josh Howard and a couple of expiring contracts. Then the 96 minutes of PF and Center would be shared by three guys in Dirk, Shaq and Amar'e, and the Suns would get more flexibility in salary and a remarkable talented player who is right in his prime even though marijuana has made him less exellent as he should have been.

Howard isnt soft, you guys are misguided. He's got chopstick legs. He gathers himself before he jumps, thats why he brings the ball low. If you think that he hasnt been coached not to do that, you are kidding yourself. EVERYONE sees it, so you got to believe his coaches told him that. He isnt Bynum who's had like 1-2 strong dunks over 2 years... DHow just doesnt have the legs to carry his rediculous upper body. He gets the ball, centers his base and jumps. He's a much better jumper than Shaq but doesnt have the base Shaq did.

How can you call a guy soft who gets 12-15 boards a game and just missed a triple double with 9 blocks? So the man has a weak set of sticks...He's already 7 feet and ripped as , he's not a robot. Look at Yao, THAT guy is soft. (oh yeah and Bynum, who's softer than Gasol by a mile)

Yao's got tree trunks for legs. If he gets into position, no way are you going to move him.
