Breaking the ice : the Official 2008-2009 NHL season thread

Hockey has the best G7s.

Hockey is such a great game to watch live. TV doesn't do it justice.

Too bad the RWs and Leafs don't play as much anymore. The drunks from Detroit and Toronto fighting in the stands was soooo much fun to watch.

Have you been down to the Joe? If you haven't and want something a little closer to home, then the UM/MSU games at Munn usually have a great atmosphere.

And Hossa, if that head of yours continues to stay up your ass, then you'll be hated here. Stop playing like a vage and drive the net, pussy.

Haven't been to the Joe but I have been to a UM/MSU game at Munn...that was a blast.

[Vinnie_Johnson]

Pens playing well.

[Vinnie_Johnson]

Unreal throwing everything but the freaking kitchen sink can't get a goal.

[bostonguy]

Sorry to the Red Wing fans. My buddy from Pittsburgh (Who is also a Pirates/Steelers fan) is visiting and I made a bet that if Penguins win, I will take him out to the bars and pay for everything. !

[Vinnie_Johnson]

It's not over that is for sure.

[bostonguy]

It's not over that is for sure.

I hope the Red Wings have it in them to come back. They were starting to grow on me and I am not even a hockey person. im going to have an expensive bar tab if this holds up.

[Hank the Tank]

Too little too late, I think...

Hey Benedict Hossa

[lefty]

LMAO Hossa

[lefty]

- Crosby thanking people from Rimouski, Québec, where he played Junior Hockey

- Don't be surprised by Talbot scoring both goals tonight: he was clutch in juniors with Hull. Only had to wait 8 freaking rounds before a team picked him.

- ANd for the sake of it, I got autograph from Mikle Bab (Wings head coach), Scott Niedermayer, Giguere and Sheldon Souray during the 2009 ASG here in Montreal

[DeadlyDynasty]

omfg the southside is blowin up! im faced lol

[desflood]

Wait, dammit. I'm coming too.

[Rip-Hamilton32]

lol, congrats to the penguins didn't think they would do it

[Biggems]

As a Pens fan, I didn't think we could beat the Wings...I felt it would be a close, hard fought series, but I figured the Wings would win in 7. I just felt that Osgood was too darn tough to score on. Fortunately, Talbot showed up huge tonight and was able to tear down the Osgood Wall.

Fleury definitely redeemed himself in these last two games, for that horrible display in game 5.

As much as I crack on Hossa for being a turncoat....I'd love for the Pens to stand pat with most of the roster, but somehow add Hossa again....that is, if he is FA next season. I cannot remember how big a contract he signed.
