San Antonio Inquired About Fifth Pick
Jun 13, 2009 9:07 AM EST
There has been a lot of speculation regarding the Wizards coveting Manu Ginobili from the Spurs.
The rumors apparently started when San Antonio called Washington to see what it would take to get the fifth overall pick in this month's draft.
The Wizards said it would take Ginobili, which ended the discussion, according to the Washington Post.
Other than Ginobili, there is nothing the Spurs could offer the Wizards for the pick.
"They don't have a thing for [No.] 5," a source told the Post.

Thanks![]()
This sounds much more realistic than previous rumors..
I am going to go republican and be the party of no.By saying no trading manu
God where is your drool cup?
I left it at your sisters house last night j/k lol. But seriously I think manu still has gas in the tank for 2 or 3 more runs and it be a huge mistake to trade him.
I guess it doesn't hurt to ask around but what do the Spurs think it would take to get a lottery pick? Even in a weak draft they're not going to be given away.
Well damn there goes my hopes for a potential big player in the future.
??? This trade does almost nothing to the 2010 plan. Etan Thomas and Mike James are both ending contracts, and Young makes like $1.7M, plus the rookie contract of pick #5.
