I'm gonna send this one out to Whott who is next on my list. The You Hang It, I Bang It Freight train is coming right at those loser Screwballs

My new favorite hobby is tracking Whott's waiver claims with Razzball.com. Within a day (over even hours with the case of Kris Medlen) of them suggesting you pick up a player, Whott picks up that player. "Sean Rodriguez might be a good pickup if your in a deep league", Whott picks him up within a day. It's also funny to note that all of Whott's opinions on my team at the beginning of the year are verbatim the feelings of this site. Like How Victor Martinez would be a bad draft choice because he is 32- they wrote a nice piece on that. I didn't know Whott had his own fantasy blog, why didn't you share that with the rest of us?

I've never heard of Razzball and don't go to fantasy sites for my research. I do my own research. The fact that I seem to track Razzball or they seem to track me means they are a very good above average site IMHO.

And as for Victor Martinez....my opinion on Victor Martinez was based entirely on drafting that piece of last year with a 3rd ing round draft pick. It's was not my intent for it to be an objective analysis. Only to state that he does in fact, suck ass. 100%.

In any case, I don't blame you for being proud of the VMart pick seeing as how he's like the only guy you drafted that you haven't waived.

My favorite thing to do is watch how you clean up my waiver drops and drop players I suggest you drop.

Is there any player I suggested you drop that you haven't yet?

And how's that Volstadt pickup working out for you? Did Razzball also suggest dropping him just as he was about to suck like I did?

He was overachieving, and it was obvious.

Well he is the best catcher in the league, and is holding his own as a first baseman for which I drafted him

I don't even know what this means. I've picked up one guy that I know of who used to be on your squad and I only picked him up for 2 days to get a steal from him.
Is there any player I suggested you drop that you haven't yet?
Everyone knew I was just riding the Bonifacio wave while it lasted. I said I would drop him back in May. I don't think there is anyone else

I still have Volstad, and say what you want about him, he is still a better option than John Maine or whoever I dropped for him.

Um, you picked up 3 guys last week alone that were on my squad, 2 weeks ago.

    Morgan
    Sheffield
    Volstadt.

    My young pilot fish.

Everyone knew I was just riding the Bonifacio wave while it lasted. I said I would drop him back in May. I don't think there is anyone else
You mean aside from Thome and there are others, it's just that there are so many I forgot them.

I still have Volstad, and say what you want about him, he is still a better option than John Maine or whoever I dropped for him.
John Maine being another guy that was on my squad. Thanks for the help.

I wonder if I should officially start the Volstadt waiver wire drop watch today or prorate it...

And I'll tell you why you will end up waiving him as well...becuase the only thing he provides consistently is whip and his whip aint all that. He's overachieving on K's, his ERA is ty, and wins are always a crap shoot on a non-contending team. He helps slightly in one category does nothing in a couple of others, and hurts in one other. Many many better waiver alternatives out there.

By the way Dan, did I mention how nice it is to be playing you again? It's been a while since I played anyone that was only compe ive in 9 categories. Always good to get a nice breather inbetween playing legitimate contenders.

    .413 OBP
    10 HR
    45 RBI

    yeah he sucks

Sheffield had good numbers vs. Jamie Moyer, only planned on keeping him for 2 games.
Volstad is better than Dead Arm Maine
Morgan was mine for 2 days b/c I was tied in SB and needed one or 2.

John Maine being another guy that was on my squad. Thanks for the help.

Well he fits perfectly onto my team then because I need ERA. Buerle, Baker and Haren each give up the long ball and don't walk too many guys. They are prone to having high ERA and Whip. So looks like he fits perfectly onto my team.

and rip on me all you want for drafting Jim Thome, you drafted Oliver Perez in the 20th round. If you look at the guys I passed on it's all a bunch of guys on the waiver wire. The best player left after the 20th rounds are Bourn and Burhle and I got both of them

My bad...I meant whip, not ERA. I edited.

THe one pick up you made that was a good one IMHO was Bourne...did you know that I was sitting there analyzing adding him at the very time you picked him up?

I even add the add drop screen with him on it up and went to check some things out and when I clicked add it gave me an error message that he wasn't available.

Oliver Perez is always worth taking a flyer on if you are looking for K's which I was at that time.

That is because Champions rely on their intuition as their 6th sense for success.

Do you also want to reassess your opinion on the Haren for Papelbon deal, I wouldn't have won a pitching category all year with Papelbon instead of Haren, now I hold my own in WHIP, K's and ERA.

And Thome is worth taking a flyer when you need some Home Runs or RBI's heading into a weekend

Not at all...it was a horrible trade for you, totally killed your compe iveness in one category, every week. Even if it you only won saves half the time, your record would be about 500 right now.

I mean all you would have had to do to get compe ive and nearly dominant in that category with him is just find one closer on the waiver wire....which was possible, because I myself have done it.

Absolutely horrible trade. Much easier to get starting pitching than it is closers.

True, but the difference is when you go around talking about what a great draft pick he is.

He's always on and off the waiver wire which is why it was stupid to draft him. But that's sort of stupidity we all are guilty of...

Talking about what a great draft pick he was OTOH, well only one of us does that.

I drafted a Hall of Famer in the 24th round- how can you even spin that into a bad thing?

and for the Haren thing you are forgetting 2 things

1)Papelbon isn't that great this year

2)I only had 1 closer to begin with, and looking at every week i only would have 1 one week with saves. If I didn't have Haren I would have lost most every week in WHIP and ERA

I don't have Haren, the best starting pitcher on my staff is Ted Lilly who I seriously thought about waiving, I don't lose ERA and Whip every week.

Bad analogy. It's much easier to waiver yourself into contention in ERA and Whip than it is saves.

You want to talk waiver wire?

The 10th best player in Yahoo right, now, the best 3rd baseman, is Mark Reynolds who I claimed off the waiver wire.

The second best SS is Ben Zo, who I also claimed off the waiver wire.

Those are what you call waiver wire pickups.

Was it entirely skill that I got those players and they are top 2 at their positions? No...it's extremely lucky, but that I am compe ive at those positions is not...for you can always find break out position players and SP....

You cannot do that with closers.

Attempting to build a closing staff off the waiver wire is like to trying to find a good looking woman in Cleveland...

Unless you go for the Sharpei look, you are in for a frustrating, disappointing and frankly ugly ass time.

    Bad move on your part.

I can guarantee I will beat you in saves this week. No 10-0 for you.

Ohio has a ton of hot women.

And I never tried to build a closing staff through the waver wire. The day I picked up LaTroy Hawkins I tried trading him away. I have no use for saves. I just keep my eyes peeled for a closer so I can pick him up and trade him away to someone who wants a closer.

When you get older and more experienced at life you'll understand where I am coming from.

Incidentally, should you win this week, it will be entirely due to my bad luck, whereas if I win, it will be entirely due to skill. It's like that.

    @hot women in Cleveland.

You know how people survived without cellphones, the internet and TV?

    They didn't know any better...

That's the creed of all men in Cleveland.

I already beat you once so it will be nothing new. I beat you without Jimmy Rollins last time, now I'll beat you without Jimmy Rollins and Manny Ramirez to extend my winning streak to 4

Well you sure are gracious in defeat, however playing me again would assume that you will be meeting me in the playoffs, which I think is a bit of a reach for a team with Matt Gamel as the starting 3rd baseman. However, if you do happen to creep into the playoffs with me I will look forward to meeting you.
You might want to check the schedule before you mouth off. We meet again in week 19.

I just realized that the Dominican Republicans picked up Jose Contras, who is from Cuba. This has to break some sort of league violation
