Holy ...I've been saying for 5 years on this forum that Europe created this mess and finally someone is agreeing.

And BTW sabar, I agre with a great deal of what you said, and that's rare in this forum.

    About ing time.

Now for #2 to see how far this goes, the A#1 architect of the Palestinian Israeli problem is the United Kingdom. 100%. It's their fault more than any one else.

They promised the Palestinians and Israelis the same land and they took money from the Israelies for Israel, they then expected the Israelis to get wiped off the map, which would solve Europe's jewish problem and they'd make some money while doing it, which didn't happen when Israel survived, hence the last 70 years of bull in the ME.

Win - Win situation. Letterman gets increased ratings for at least another week. Palin gets to play the victim card and further propagate her theory that all forms of media are out to get poor lil ol Palin.

She needs to stop debating these comedians / anchors, and start debating somebody much more substantial. This is gonna work for the "Team Palin" members of the world... but serious people are gonna look past it and get behind a substantive candidate.

and start debating somebody much more substantial.
Wrong. The media wants her to and they keep asking who's the leader of the GOP. Well I don't know if she has what it takes to be the leader but I do know that a smart politician isn't going to try and be the leader now (unlike Newt). It's too soon to make a move and still too much good will towards Obama for that. Smart politicians will wait and see what happens and then figure out how to go after Obama instead of jumping in the mix now. Palin's smarter than Jindal.

You might recall Obama avoided taking a stance on anything as senator.

She'll have him eating out of her hand before long. Letterman has already apologized, abjectly, twice.

First one was too sarcastic. The second one passes for a real apology. Hopefully she accepts it and doesn't over play her hand.

Maybe not debating "someone", but definitely "something". I'd say a lot of Americans know only of her constant run ins with TV personalities and that doesn't bode well for her. She can't win presidential election as just a down to Earth hockey mom, especially against the behemoth of a campaign that Obama is sure to roll out. She needs to brand herself in a way other than just doing fundraisers, making semi incoherent speeches, and sparring with the media. I honestly think she's going to be eaten alive during the Republican primaries. Many people on the right are already jealous of all the attention she's getting and they're all kind of waiting for the right time to attack her. Much like all the crap from the McCain campaign that came out after the election.

I hope you mean Palin is smarter than Jindal in a "political savvy" sort of way and not in any intellectual capacity.

and Obama's stance was an "anti George Bush" stance. Which was the correct one to take considering the political climate.

Letterman apologized again? That's good, seeing as how the first one was more of a comic routine than an apology. Hopefully this ends it... but probably not. She's not done milking it yet.

I agree completely but now is not the time. Why try and tackle issues now when you have a couple of years to work on your positions. There's nothing to be gained now. When the Spurs season starts are you going to be screaming for Manu go balls out and take whatever punishment is dished out or would you rather him wait until after the all star break for that?

In politics, that's the only kind of "smarts" there is. Einstein would have been crushed by pretty much any politician.

She's not a seasoned vet like Manu. Newt can wait until after the all star break because people generally know him and what he's about.

She's more like George Hill. She needs as much playing time as possible in order to reach her potential. She doesn't need to make her move now, but she does need to start forming her platform. If she waits too long she won't be able to get her message out effectively.

and let's not act like this is gonna happen in a vacuum. If she doesn't start getting serious early than she's ed. SNL is gonna have a field day with her and she needs to fight the stereotypes by presenting herself in a way so that when they do their skits people will be like "that doesn't seem anything at all like her" ... as opposed to making it easy on them and allowing SNL to basically repeat her words ver batim and having it be one of the funniest skits of the year.

Don't dismiss SNL either. I think something like 80% of people actually thought that she said she could see Russia from her house... as opposed to her saying you can see Russia from an island. (which is still kinda re ed since I guess she was trying to convey her defense skillz with that one)

She may not be a seasoned vet but she already has something none of the other potential republican contenders have...the base. She's got plenty of time.

She may not be single yet but she already has something none of the other potential republican contenders have...a hot, hot bod. She's got plenty of time to divorce that creep and move to SA. She will be mine...

That's debatable. I'd say she has half the base, or about 12% of the electorate, locked up. There's gonna be a lot of contenders for the Republicans and the primaries should be great to watch.

I might be the only person on this forum who doesn't think she's all that special. I guess she has a big rack... but after ... 4 kids? You know those things have to be abused.

Should be interesting. I think alot of the names being floated now won't be in the running (too moderate or too ugly -Newt) with the exception of Palin. Newt only has a chance if the dems drop Obama and nominate Susan Boyle.

The issue is stupid, but evidently someone cares. She got her apology.
