Angels are slowly creeping back up but thats to be expected cause we had a very tough stretch. Hopefully the Astros coming to town is just the remedy we need

Yeah this stretch is what I was afraid of with the Angels having an easy stretch, and the Rangers facing three of the best teams in baseball in a couple week stretch.

4 and 5 against the best is DECENT, but not good.

Holland while he may become good, is not right now.

he's lobbing grapefruits up there and they are all right over the damn plate.

What they SHOULD do, is sign Martinez, put Holland in the minors.

I don't know what else you could do bats wise, they are playing the best they have, they are just going through a tough stretch that happens in every season.

The Astros coming to town HOPEFULLY is the cure they need, but I have a feeling the series after the Astros may, I think they get the Giants and then the Padres.

I won't be there but those are some good seats. Have fun! My next game will probably be one of the Angels games at the end of the month. Too bad they have to be on the road in San Fran for my bday or else I would go to a game then. I usually do if they are home.

I wanna see that park too. I've only been to SF once, and that was the summer before it would open. It looks like a fun place to catch a game.

i went to AT&T Park or whatever its called back when it was PacBell when i was vacationing in SF during the Bonds watch days.

It was a really nice park, but it definitely wont be the same without the boats in McCovey Cove

i think they played Arizona and won a walkoff in extra innings

now it our turn to whoop up on the NL West with SF, SD and ARZ. Rangers can do no worse than 6-3 during this stretch

Hey when do the Angels get to go to Boston and New York?

    They don't?

    Yeah that sounds kosher.

HR is nice but I wish the guy would hit some balls in the gap or some line drives. Its either HR or K with CD

First off I'm a ing idiot, the Angels do go to New york and Boston so disregard that bundle of nonsensical drivel.

    Second,

Why couldn't Hank play first all the time as opposed to Davis?

    Just curious.

    BTW, screw you Jason Jennings.

yeah, it sucks to see Davis strikeout so much, but does anyone notice how ing good he is in the field? I mean, really. Hard liners, sharply hit grounders, bad throws to first that he reaches for to make the catch, practically doing the splits to catch a throw ASAP as to get the speedy runners out...he does it all.

Last season, Davis played 51 games at 1st base and made 1 error in 393 chances. That is a .997 fielding %. This season? He has played 59 games at 1st, with 1 error in 564 chances. That's a .998 fielding %. On the other hand, you have Blalock, who in 6 games at 1st, has made 2 errors in 52 chances, a .962 fielding %.

I'm perfectly fine giving a spot in the batting order to a guy who is struggling from the plate, if he's going to make us a better defensive team.

While his D is great his bat is killing this lineup, Davis' bat is terrible enough that something needs to be done. He doesnt even put the ball in play. Doug Mientkiewicz is a FA, might as well sign him. He D is great and his bat is probably way better. He has a career .996 Fielding % in 12 season.

The HRs are nice but Davis doesnt know how to situationally hit. Cant bunt, take the pitch the other way. He doesnt hit the ball to the right side with a runner at 2nd and less than 2 outs, etc...

    Mienkaakjddjkja sucks.

He's shot and got nothing left.

Put Davis in the 9 hole and leave his glove out there. I didn't realize his glove was that good.

Part of the reason for the Rangers great pitching is the pitching to contact, and letting the defense work.

When you have a good fielding team like the Rangers do, then you can do that. So if you want continued good pitching, you keep your best defenders out there.

So you think its ok to leave a 23 yr old in his first full major league season out there so that he can strike out 50% of the time...At first i was worried what it would do to him mentally at the plate and its obvious that nothing has gotten better.

If Mienkewicz is on the table i'd much rather have him than a guy who just goes up there and whiffs.

Do you really trust Chris Davis to hit in a big spot in the postseason where the last thing you need is a strikeout?
