I've had no problems admitting that. Maybe you should know who you're talking to before assuming that Ghazi and I share the same opinions on Dirk & the Mavericks.

I just find it funny how gleeful Rockets fans get when talking about Dirk being a choker. Forgetting of course, that they got absolutely murdered in a Game 7 by said choker. Forgetting that they have a choker of their own that makes Dirk look Robert Horry clutch in comparison. Or maybe they didn't forget, and they're just happy to call him a choker because they're bitter about how their own team has failed & choked.

*Cue bragging about their ty 15 year old les won when Jordan was playing baseball*
Hmm, that's a whole lot of assuming going on there. Stick with it if it makes you happy.

Yep, T-Mac makes Dirk look like Bird. At the end of the day both never delivered....but I never saw a Rockets star look that frazzled in the postseason. Not getting it done and not even wanting to get it done are two different things.

    My point stands.

If the worst call in Finals history wasn't made, even with the events of the 2007 Warriors series, Dirk would not be considered a choker. How can you consider an NBA champion a choker? You can't. NBA Champions are winners, "choker" is a term synonymous with losing.

I've seen Bryant, the Spurs, Billups, etc etc... ing etc... come up short on big stages a few times. But, they have rings, therefore get a free pass... and you know what? They should get a free pass, because they've proven they can win.

Therefore, our beloved Dirk SHOULD get a pass for the Warriors series because he SHOULD have won a ring in 2006.

This is the simple point we're trying to make, in our thread appreciating the greatness of Dirk Nowitzki.

Again, "choke" is just a dumb term that I dislike using in intelligent basketball discussions. Sometimes, players just miss shots down the stretch. Sometimes, players, even great players, just don't play well in key games.

What you reap is what you sow, 2006 was the definition of Karma coming back to get you losers after the the Spurs went through in the conference semis.

"Dirk, out of control, steps on duncan's foot, ohhhh! joey crawford calls a foul from the complete opposite side of the court, Duncan's fouled out!! it's 40 games in 40 nights drama here on TNT!!!"

ers. Way to crown the tiest champion in nba history. Those heat were a joke.

    Dirk is considered soft
I just say Dirk is soft because when I watch him in games I always see him take fadeaways, I hate players who do that I like to see a little contact. Other then the fadeaways his is good, not as good as WADE though

Mavs fans should mourn is why their team felt it was a better idea to continuously shoot jumpers instead of going to the basket. Why was their superstar hiding from the ball instead of being assertive?

mav fans shouldn't be mourning 2006 anymore, mavs didn't win end of story. You can say they COULD, SHOULD, WOULD, but it's the past, nothing with change the fact they don't have a ring just got to move on, I'm sure DIRK has

There's nothing free about it. They earned their championships and places in history. A free pass would probably be more like Dirk being included in the same class as these guys being that he hasn't been able to lead his team to a championship. The fact that a Dirk-led Mavs team was like 8 minutes away from going up 3-0 in the Finals and couldn't manage to win even one more game doesn't really help his case.

Dirk has his MVP and that's awesome, but he's not a champion. To get champion cred, you need to actually win a championship.

The best part is where you said that he's considered a choker because he's white. This didn't seem to be a problem for Jerry "Mr. Clutch" West and Larry Bird. Maybe they got a free pass too.

More like 8-10 illegit calls or so in Games 5 and 6 that are the difference between winning and losing in games that were decided by 1 point and 3 points.
