The difference between Jon & Kate and Duggars...in my opinion is that the Duggars continue to have these kids and are just plain old nuts. Jon and Kate were having fertility issues and went the IVF route and got lucky with the twins and just holy cow had eight the next time. The first special they made was just to show off what it was like when they were super duper little and it was just such a success that they ended up getting a weekly show. I guess that's what happened with the Duggars too...but I just think the duggars are nutso because they continue to have kid after kid after kid and make the big kids take care of the little kids and they're practically raising mini mes. It's stupid .

To clarify, they did IUI, not IVF. IUI = intrauterine insemination, wherein a catheter is inserted through the cervix, into the uterus and fresh semen is deposited into the uterus via catheter, timed to ovulation. In some cases (certainly in J&K's case) they were on fertility drugs to stimulate extra follicles.
I have heard, but don't know if it's substantiated, that the actual IUI was cancelled due to overstimulation (happened to a good friend of mine with IUI#2). Meaning, she had too many follicles of good size to risk an IUI, which would make her likely to conceive HOM (high order multiples). So they went home and sexed it up and conceived HOM anyway.
Either way, there is a difference in IUI/IVF, and IVF gets a bad enough rep with irresponsible doctors like the one who put multiple embryos in octomom. That is unethical and shouldn't have been allowed.
What I learned today is that apparently easjer keeps SFIE's testicles in a little box on her nightstand.

She was a bossy little who was never happy about anything he did the only time I watched part of the show. And most of it was about stupid that wasn't worth stressing about. After a while with a Woman like that, it's only a matter of time before the dude says, "Fine , do it all yourself then."

Then I stand corrected. I knew there were at least two types of infertility treatments. At some point, I knew what Kate had, but that's not something i keep in the back of head to whip out for Trivial Pursuit or anything. ...or for conversations like this.
I agree with your statement about IVF 1000%. Some things that have happened are just beyond unethical and ridiculous.
So I watched a few shows - you know, for street cred - and here's my take:
A narcissistic bag married to a whiny, woe-is-me, narcissistic . Do these people ever play with their kids? Boys day out is a trip to the gym so you can work out? For real? Jon should be throat-punched just for that. He does look like the one who does indeed give a about the kids, though. I mean, besides how clean they are and if they're wearing matching outfits.
I also find it funny that she consistently harped on him for not helping her out when I didn't see her help him out in the least bit. At all. Ever. Telling him what he did wrong or to do things that her lazy ass forgot to do, notwithstanding.

I have never seen this show before. I heard of it a couple months back when it was rumored he was cheating. Anyway, I find it hilarious that after this announcement of the divorce, it's now coming out that they have been separated/living separate for two years. The whole show has been a farce and people have been consumed by it.

I tried to watch for about five minutes while I was getting ready this morning, purely for the sake of curiosity, and nearly throat punched myself in the process. Just ing painful.

You gotta watch it for the kids, they're actually really entertaining (except for the bratty ass older girls). Nowadays tho, the show stopped being about the kids and started being almost exclusively about the two godawful parents, which is why the show has been so bad this season.
I watched one and it was easy to see why I never watched or heard of the show. The second was to see what appeal they had to the masses. I didn't see it. Nothing interesting happened at all. Were people watching just to see the depths of her itude or how aloof he would become after daily castration?
And I forgot, Jon did play with his kids. This involved him chipping practice balls at the boys and then they'd retrieve them like good little puppies so he didn't have to do it.
