I would like to see Gooden back with the spurs next year. I was really impressed with him last year, any1 else in favor of bringing him back?

    PG: Parker
    SG: Manu
    SF: Jefferson
    PF: Gooden
    C: Duncan

I'm in favor, but let's see what else we can get through trades, first.
I was saying that I'd bring him back for the right price, but with RC's recent comments, I think they'd actually pay the full MLE to sign another big or keep Gooden.

I rather have a defensive minded/ rebounding piece at the starting 5 spot. Camby via trade plus Sheed or McDyess with the MLE would be my ultimate fantasy dream that could be more realistic than people think. Maybe I'm being too selfish.

I get what you're saying. I'd still like to have someone outside of Duncan with some type of low-post game, though.

It would be perfect if we could keep Gooden for the LLE, and get a defensive/rebounding Center with the MLE

I just thought Gooden's shot selection hurt the flow of our offense. Yes he is talented offensively, but so was Ron Mercer.

I rather use or MLE or LLE on defensive players now that we are getting Richard Jefferson and Manu for next years squad.

I wouldn't mind having D. Gooden back at a fair price which is probably between 3-5 mil per year. If you look at his age, size, and skills, he is by far the more talented player than most of the available big for the MLE, but the one thing against him is really his basketball IQ; and to be honest, he's actually a decent individual defender, but it's his team defense that needs work to do.

I don't know about that. I think Gooden has everything that Zaza lacks, and Zaza has some stuff that Gooden lacks.

If Zaza and Gooden became one, that would be a pretty damn good player.

Gooden would be better defensively with the Spurs next season if he returned cause he would have the whole summer to get a customed to the Spurs defense and would gain some chemistry.

I don't think the Spurs were overwhelmed with Gooden given the fact that they still played Bonner over him so much.

We need a 7 foot presence out there. Trade for a 7 foot presence.

A "7 foot presence" does not come around very often. It's hard to find them.

In a perfect world, they end up with a mobile rebounding and shotblocking big to start alongside TD. I'm not sure they can pull that rabbit out of a hat, unless, of course, they're willing to take another big deal back in a trade.

Gooden might indeed be brought back, but I think that's if other options disappear.

What's forgotten is that he did play injured during his time in SA. I think that may have been a factor in his dwindling PT at the end of the Spurs' season.

I know a lot of you think he was overrated on this board by many but I really wish we had PMB still.

Wasn't a fan of his signing, and I wouldn't be for bringing him back either.

Bringing Gooden back is a no brainer. Unless the Spurs are planning on starting a bunch of wing players

You don't want 5 scorers on the floor at once. It doesn't work in the all-star game, doesn't work in the olympics, doesn't even work in video games.

i am definitely open to bring him back. his defense is below average and his iq is questionable but hes still more talented than most big men out there. and ofcousre i would like a defensive minded big man that grabs boards, scores, high iq, athletic, etc but theres only one david robinson and hes gone.

Our offense never had a flow. He at least made it interesting.but I agree we need toughness up front

This is probably one of the more important moves for this summer, is keeping Gooden. The man can play, we just didn't get to see him much last year cuz of him recuperating for his injury. The best is yet to come from Drew.
