Not because of the weed or anything else. I just felt a real sense of wellbeing when I was there. Great people, really healthy food, water and beautiful flowers everywhere, biking, great air, etc.

    Currently, London England.
Istanbul, Turkey is a close second.

I want to visit Bled, Slovenia and some other places in Europe and when I do I might have a new favorite.
In that case, I'd like to visit Christiansted. But seriously, I haven't traveled much, but the parts of Denver I've seen are really nice. I'd like to see cities with a lot of history; that makes for interesting sight-seeing for me.

(Edited in case anyone thought I was serious.)

Bar Harbor is a cool city, and I love downtown Boston, but my fave city is probably New Orleans.

The list of cities that are nice to visit is too long to post, but to live in the answer is easy: Zurich (even Fortune magazine agrees with me).

And while Ljubljana can't really compare the quality of life is pretty high there too.

Why would you want to live in Zurich? Isn't it by far the most expensive city in the world? I have a friend who told me it cost him like $50-$60 for a ty cafeteria lunch when he had to go there on business.

Most of my favorite places in the world aren't densely populated, but if I were going to pick proper cities, it would be Santa Fe, Florence, and DC, in that order.

I was born in Seoul and lived there for about ten years since I was born as a military brat but that place has been unmatched from the several cities I've lived in the US although San Antonio has been the largest one I've lived in.

Legalized pros utes, breathtaking scenery, awe-inspiring city architecture, and overally big city feel of Seoul was a great experience. I was born a city rat.

While Zurich can be expensive (I know I'm there a few times every month), the really expensive part is really only in the center. You can have lunch for more or less the same kind of money as Munich or Frankfurt and in many ways it's like Paris, it's only expensive for tourists.
Except if money is not an issue. Never stay at the downtown hotels!!! They're nice, but $$$. At the same time Tuesday I slept in a nice new modern hotel 5 min. by train from the airport and 10 minutes by tram from the city center for 58€/night, which by European standards is a steal. For 60€/night in Paris you seriously have to worry about roaches or the neighborhood - probably both. In London you'd probably be an hour travel away from the center.

At the same time the quality of life in Zurich is off the charts. Things like cleanliness, safety and lack of pollution are still true. While being a city on all the major concert tours (or at least close by). Excellent geographical position with good connections to anywhere in the world. World class health ins ution all around. Excellent schools. Low crime rate.

As I said I do a lot of business in Zurich and have a few personal friends there - and while it is not the cheapest city (OK it's in the top half), I feel you get a lot for your bucks.

BTW Munich is a pretty nice city to live in too! (and cheaper than Zurich).
