Yao’s foot injury not healed
Yao Ming’s broken foot is not healed and the Houston Rockets say the All-Star center is out indefinitely.
Yao suffered a hairline fracture in his left foot in the Rockets’ playoff loss to the Lakers on May 8. The team initially said Yao was expected to miss only eight to 12 weeks. But team doctor Tom Clanton examined Yao’s foot in Houston on Wednesday and said the hairline fracture has not responded to the treatment program.
A bone scan conducted Wednesday night revealed that the fracture had not yet healed. The team now says no timeline is set for Yao’s return to basketball activities.
Yao and the Rockets will consult with doctors who have previously participated in his care before proceeding with a new course of action.

Poor guy. Guy always gives his all, and his body just can't keep up. I hope he can play for a long time, but at this rate, it's kind of hard to imagine.

However those that say with healthy Yao they beat Lakers are wishing on a star a healthy yao or TmaC is like finding a leperchaun riding a unicorn with a pot of gold under his arm. Sounds great but it just doesnt exist ...wake up live in the real world.
I'm tired of hearing about this, Nash has played with a yeast infection for 2 years and counting now.
unfortunately i only see 2-3 more years in him playing at a high level. i just dont see him getting any better when injuries keep bringing him down
Yao has to be one of the nicest guys in the NBA. I feel for him. It's to the point that it isn't even news anymore once he is hurt.

Walton never had the luxury of playing with modern orthopedics and modern fitness/nutrition.
His health is overrated. But he's a dominant player when completely healthy.
Walton also never had a national commitment, or have to run back and fourth with 310lb on his leg.
Don't cry just because Yao will retire ringless.
No one crying. Yao played his hardest, his leg just can't hold up. I clap to that.
