More especially guys like Scola and Ginobili.
Or Navarro?
More especially guys like Scola and Ginobili.
I gotta tell you I'm fighting the urge to reserve a hotel room during parade time.
and btw when was Splitter Euroleague MVP?
Like I said I don't want to put all my eggs in a Euroleague "star" basket. Some panned out, some didn't.
And when did you start riding Scola's ?
He was the MVP of the Spanish Super Copa in '06 and '07, 1st Team Euro in '08 and 2nd Team Euro in '09. Don't believe he's ever been the Euroleague MVP though.
Since the guy turned into an NBA all star
when did you turn into such a bitter old man?
Everyone one close to the Spurs said it is not likely Splitter comes over. But it is nice to think about.
Eliyahu is not a 5, but that doesn't matter much because Tau had Splitter playing the 5 this season. Tau was really depleated in the frontcourt this year, which is why Barca was able to best them both in Euroleague as well as in ACB. Gamewise this signing doesn't affect Splitter at all.
Scola never won any Euroleague MVPs.
Probobly next year with more gradual improvements.
Damn you Russ for getting my hopes up like that! I can't seriously see Splitter walking away from his current deal.
Yeah neither can I.
Splitter would be.
ing Tau.
For next season I'd rather see a veteran big starting.
Keep Tiago plan for 2010
Eliyahu is PF or SF. He is type of slasher. Definetely not C
I agree, Spurs need a veteran big. I'd rather not have Duncan surrounded just with rookies and Bonner.
Yes, Splitter isn´t a great proven Big in FIBA, not only in the NBA. Probably can be a Backup Center from the Bench, not a Starter
Oberto in FIBA was too better than Tiago.
He´s not our solution
If i want to be honest, the NBA must to buy the TAU. Every TAU player have troubles when he want to play in the NBA. If anyone NBA´s team Owner buy this team, he can make a big move.
that and getting Sheed would make it a fine offseason
No, Splitter coming over would actually be bad.
How many rookie bigs can we carry on a championship roster? 1) Mahinmi (effectively a rookie) 2) Blair 3) Gist 4) Splitter. None of these guys has ever played anything comparable to an 82 games season. We would at most carry 3 rookies, and I suspect Pop will only want 2. That says to me that only one of Gist and Blair ends up on SAS's roster this year. In 2010, we bring in 2 more rooks, Splitter and the odd man out of Blair/Gist.
Exactly my thinking.
We'll see. Don't forget that is also the same Pop who started a 19 year old French rookie at point once upon a time.
+1. Good and Bad. Sheed plays with an at ude. He reminds me a lot of Robert Horry in that he can hit the 3, isn't afraid to pull the trigger and can play defense. -- When properly motivated, he is an excellent addition to a team.
If we get Sheed, its on.
