THE ING MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES!!!!! That's all I have to say. They ed up EVERYTHING for us by stashing all the damn PGs. I knew Jennings wouldn't fall past 15, I knew Holliday wouldn't get to us, I knew Flynn would be long gone as well. Whoever the was left of Ty Lawson, Jeff Teague, Eric Maynor and Darren Collison, I was fine with. GODDAMNED ING MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES!!!!!
I'm still not buying their GM's bull about playing Rondo and Flynn out there together. Xs and Os, they think it might work. But these guys have egos on the line. No way in they let someone in ing MINNESOTA tell them to split the duties or ride the bench.

yeah, the T-Wolves have no leverage with Rubio. He can go play in Europe or he can pressure them to trade him to a more desirable situation. I think they were not expecting him to be there at 5 and decided to grab him as a trade chip. I think Flynn is their man.

Don't know why people are getting on our GM's ass, he converted the 22 pick into (knowing he could still get his guy) 24th plus the 56th plus a late 2nd rounder in 2010. Then he gained knowledge that the Thunder was going after BJ and he took advantage and gain leverage to garnish another 2010 pick plus the original guy that he wanted, the Frenchie...being just one pick less means guaranteed salary owed to the Frenchie will also be less. Note that these 2nd rounders might seemed useless, but they could be packaged in various trades or could be sold for $$$$. Add the math guys...
~Oh yeah, and for mono the 22, 24, or 25th was in no means our savior for these currently disgruntled Mavs, not like it was a damn lottery pick~

Too bad you picked up the lesser Frenchie Pg.....they played on the same team and Nando was the main man. +1 for the spurs. And Blair who is going to own any maverick post player. +2 for the spurs

    Sure, man. Whatever you say.

Think you'd still be saying that stupid if the picks were reversed and those guys were taken by the Mavs? I strongly doubt it.

Hey sometimes the backup plays better than the main guy... I'd rather have Matt Cassel than Leinart...

Why are people talking about draft picks when they have all played the same amount of NBA basketball that I have. Wait until they get on the court against the proven players, then judge.

While we're at it, let's put a stop to all preseason predictions and just judge a team after the regular season is over. Let's stop predicting what will happen in the playoffs and just judge teams once it's all over.

I am indifferent about the draft. You're only as good as your top 3-4 guys in this league and no player was going to come in and replace JET/Ho/Kidd/Dirk.

All I'm concerned about is bringing in some defensive personnel and a legitimate 2nd option to compliment Dirk. That can still be accomplished. There are still some nice names out there.

I haven't been sober for a while though so I'm not sure if I know what I'm talking about.

I'll start ing if this offseason passes without any change to the core of the Mavs.

The Texification of draft pick Roddy Beaubois got serious Friday night when president Donnie Nelson took the new Maverick to the Mesquite Rodeo.

Beaubois got an up-close look at the bull-riding compe ion at the end of the evening and gained a new appreciation for the toughness of cowboys.

"I've never seen anything like this,'' he said.

Nelson is a stake-holder in the Mesquite Rodeo and, if you've never been there, you're missing a terrific experience. The building is great, with private suites ringing the top of the stands.

Really great for viewing and the roughly 5,500 seats were mostly full.

Anyway, Beaubois was wide-eyed most of the night as he wore a cowboy hat while getting the grand tour with Nelson and director of scouting Gallo Fall.

But then, actually, a picture is worth a lot more than these words. Here's Beaubois, with Fall in the background.

Apparently he is staying in Dallas. Looks like a solid backup PG. Maybe a Barbosa type at best.

Our highly coveted first round pick played his first summer league game, and uhhhhhh the results aren't great, buddy.

Ok- Let's start with Roddy, the supposed ´’Lightning Rod’’ we've been led to believe with this great wingspan and leaping ability ? none of that matters when you turn the ball over repeatedly and i mean the first 3 trips of the game for the Mavs, Roddy Beaubois palmed the ball on a FB (out of control) and next two times penetrated and dished out to no one except the other team or me in the front row. let's give him some time to calm down and see if he can harness the energy. However, 4 pts w/ 7 fouls and 6 turnovers and only 2 assist is not exactly, this is not exactly a Ty Lawson start to things.... He did show some burst and finishing skills a few times, but otherwise is going to need some big time TIME before he's ready. And i didn't see the length/defense everyone is excited about... looking forward to a better Roddy next time out.

His second game box score looks quite a bit nicer however.

    34 pts, 8 asts, 5 reb, only 2 turnovers. 9 fouls.

It would have been more painful for you guys if you had stayed at the 22nd pick, Just hoping that one of the picks from 18-21 would be someone other than a PG, leaving you guys one of em. However, Lawson, Teague, Maynor and Collison were picked #18, #19, #20, and #21. I hope Collison pans out for us as a solid backup.

Seriously tho, I have turned around enough to think that this Frenchy could wind up helping out the Mavs. If he's truly "Barbosa with defense" then that's a huge win for the Mavs. Unfortunately it helps us with finding a true PG after Kidd is gone.
