We are moving soon and considering getting wood floors too in the upstairs (the downstairs is tiled).

we have just been extemely busy lately..... my partner's mother passed away, job promotion for me at work and then trying to find the right home to purchase was a pain in the ass (gays are so picky
and btw.... i sent that piece of alienware laptop back and got a dell instead like i should have in the first place
this is the first time i've had wood floors, at first i was scared with the dog scratching them, which he has done already, but i over it now
the floors are much easier to keep clean and add value to the house, carpet is just nasty
we did save some $$$$ by removing the vinyl and carpet ourselves
we watch alot of HGTV now

I don't know that we "need" it. It's just a good opportunity for us. We are doing some remodeling on the house over the next couple months and moving in Sept/Oct.
I had wood floors for many years in Los Angeles, but never since I've lived in Texas. We haven't really decided if we are going for wood.
