I'm surprised Duncan228 hasn't chimed in about that yet. I've known for a long time that they were good friends. Sheed has openly stated in the past that he would love to play alongside Timmy before it's all over.
Not much to chime in about.

It's common knowledge that they're friends, and that they have great respect for each other. Duncan has said Rasheed is one that has defended him the best over the years. There's been plenty written about it for years, the peak was probably the '05 Finals.

Stan Van Gundy is a great coach, but does anybody really think he can handle sheed? he couldnt even handle rafer alston and even had friction with dwight howard is a saint.

there are probably only 2 coaches that can handle sheed and thats KFC and Pop.

Pop loves sheed and sheed loves Pop.

    a match made in heaven.

Okay, seriously. Is this just a rumor that people are circle jerking to? Or has there been a confirmed sighting of him in SA?

The Cavaliers are already the best team. Followed by the Magic with Carter now. Carter can negate Kobe. If the Spurs get Rasheed, I'd only put them 2nd, because LeBron is that good. There's no denying it.

That's what I call overreacting to big name trades

Cavs are far from being the best team

And Magic gave to much away for VC

It would be really, really dumb to have Manu start. Mason sucks at creating his own offense, have him out there with those guys.
Not so much that, but just his health because of the way he plays. Manu should only start the last 8 - 10 games of the season and the playoffs

    ???

    LOL.

The Cavs were far and away the best team in the league LAST season. Forget about Shaq coming to town. Orlando got hot at the right time and they still barely won the series with Howard going to the free throw line anyone was in the immediate vacinity of him. Turkoglu shoots 1-11 from the field and goes to the line 10+ times.

I have to question how much you know about basketball if you think the Nets trade wasn't a pure salary dump. Courtney Lee is a decent player, is he equal to Vince Carter? Is he even close...? The answer is a resounding no. Alston is straight GARBAGE. He's proven this over his entire career. This isn't "street ball". Sorry.

How the do you "Barely" win a series 4-2?

Huh? Two backups and a guy who never plays is too much to give up for Vince Carter?

The Cavs were the best REGULAR season team, definitely not the best team in the NBA. The cavs got shaq and didn't address any of the needs besides a low post. The Magic with a healthy Nelson would have demolished the cavs in the playoffs.

i still leave mase starting. hes responded better as a starter and manu would still be more valuable to the 2nd team than he would to the 1st team.

but a 4th quarter lineup of tp, manu, rj, rw, and td sounds really damn good.

The Cavaliers are already the best team. Followed by the Magic with Carter now. Carter can negate Kobe. If the Spurs get Rasheed, I'd only put them 2nd, because LeBron is that good. There's no denying it.
You are overating the Cavs. Lebron is a good dude but he doesn't have the late game finishing ability that some of the other top teams do. When it comes down to the end you don't win championships on paper. As good as these teams are getting with all these trades I beleive the spurs have the best finishers for the close games that will decide series in the playoffs. With all of these teams becoming elite it is going to come down to who can execute it crunch time.

    Late Game Weapons

Cavs= Lebron is overated in these situations although he did hit a big shot last offseason. Shaq is a non-factor late in games because you can just foul him and send him to the line.

Magic=Vince Carter will demand the ball resulting in horrible shot.

Lakers= have Kobe (as much as I hate to admit it.) who is good in the clutch. Derek Fisher on offense Ariza (assuming he is a Laker next season.) for defense.

Celtics= Ray allen, Paul Pierce, Garnett not so much

Spurs=Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Roger Mason clutch on offense. Manu and Duncan clutch on defense. I wish we would bring back Bruce for another late game defensive stopper but we will see.

If you look at it the three best teams at executing late in the game will probably be the Celtics, Spurs, and the Lakers.

But who is going to get clutch rebounds or block shots for the lakers. Gasol-Too soft
    Bynum-nope
    Odom-yeah right

For the Celtics who is going to be able to force a turnover in the clutch.

Not any one of there big three. Maybe Rondo but who knows if he will have is head on straight.

Spurs have it all in the clutch.
Duncan- the greatest of late game passers
    Ginobili- forcing late game turnovers
Parker- no longer afraid to take the big shot
Mason-Role player will be in to shoot the three in the clutch with ice water in his vains.
Duncan- You are NOT going to get to the rim against the spurs in the clutch forget about it Duncan is great at protecting rim in the clutch and he can also get that big rebound when it matters
And if we bring back Bowen for at least one more year will will have someone not afraid to guard the other teams best player in crunch time.

This is my argument that the Spurs will win the le. If we are on the right side of the injury basketball gods we will have the best team when it matters most.

I'm not saying it is going to be easy but its when you are biting your finger nails that the best memories are made.....GO SPURS GO

You do realize that Vince Carter shoots a higher % than Kobe on game winners, right?..

Lebron isn't overrated at all in clutch shots, he shoots a very high %, and he has a number of game winners..

"clutch rebounds" isn't as a big deal as you're making it out to be..also if you're a great defensive team, your "clutch defense" won't be any different..

    anyways..

what the is up with so many people questioning Rasheed's at ude?..it's just like the Vince Carter misconceptions when we were rumored to get him..I haven't heard ANYTHING involving Rasheed and at ude towards his teammates or anything during his time as a Piston..I could be wrong, but I don't recall anything..

His temper has also never affected him in "pressure" situations..he complains a lot to the refs..you know who else complains a lot? Tim Duncan..

Even if you don't agree with my opinions you have to admit the Spurs are going to have the best team in the clutch.

And I Agree with you about Rasheed. He is still very good friends with Larry Brown so he should be fine with Pop. And I think he will get along with the rest of the team just fine. People sometimes mistake his passion for a bad at ude. I believe he just acts the way he does because he cares and he wants to win. I'll take a player like that on my team any day.

Manu and Duncan clutch on defense.
