    FYI
    McDyess Returning to Detroit Unlikely

When Antonio McDyess was traded midway through the season last year he showed his loyalty to the Detroit Pistons by sitting out a month just so he could re-sign with the team that gave him his championship ring. Now, however, things have changed in Detroit and it seems increasingly improbably that Dice is a Piston next season, according to MLive.com's A. Sherrod Blakely.

Despite the fact that he's 35 years old, the demand for McDyess is relatively extensive. When he did become a free agent in the middle of last season several contending veteran teams showed serious interest, which should be the case again this summer. Teams like San Antonio and Boston could very well lay out the red carpet for him once again, and his resume is likely to be enough to get him a significant offer, probably for two years.

Detroit has tons of cap space to work with this summer, but McDyess clearly is not the priority for a team ready to start some sort of youth movement. It's time for these guys to rebuild, which means McDyess is probably a goner from the Motor City.

I wonder if anything's actually going to happen on Wednesday..I'm excited for it too, but I don't know want to get too excited, thinking something will definitely happen, and then nothing.

Sounds quite speculative...just what this person thinks would happen based on the situation.

What I heard is that McDyess didn't want to move his family again and wanted to stay in Detroit regardless just to keep his family in one place.

    Who knows at this point?

My guess is nothing will happen for a few weeks. Teams will do interviews, players will consider their options, etc. Hurry up and wait, I think.

Oh, well, we'll just have to live off the glory of this past week for a little while. AND GET READY FOR SUMMER LEAGUE!!!!

I love it, maybe Manu can grow out his hair again and we can have the all-hair all-star team... That is another good reason Gortat is not a good fit... not locks...

Why does everyone want Antonio McDyess? I find this hilarious. That old man's balls are probably saggier than Lindsay Lohan's post-anorexia ties.:wgaf:

Did they make up an extra one for him? I don't even think Dyess was in the league the year the Pistons won.

If u want to beat the Lakers we need size. McDyes is undersized and old. 6'9 is not going to cut it in the paint against Gasol and Bynum guys, sorry to tell you but signing McDyess would be a mistake.

    Dice>Sheed on our system...

Worst comment ever. Rasheed is constructed to be a San Antonio Spur. A 7 footer who can D up bigs as well as anyone in the league and stroke the 3 better than any 7 footer. (except for dirk)

    You sir have failed.

while I don't own the veracity you do, sayign Dice>sheed in our system does seem inaccurate. A shooting bigman at that 4/5 spot is a staple of Pop's lineups, and while Dice can shoot, Sheed can shoot 3's which is ultimately better for TD, TP, Manu and RJ's spacing.
