Worst comment ever. Rasheed is constructed to be a San Antonio Spur. A 7 footer who can D up bigs as well as anyone in the league and stroke the 3 better than any 7 footer. (except for dirk)

    You sir have failed.
Right!! Sheed is taylor made for our system. He is a very good defender and can stretch the D on Offence. We would be able to score from both post positions. We would be multi-dimentional.

He is listed at 6'11, same as Timmy.

There's been so much talk about Rasheed and McDyess that the Spurs will probably go for someone completely different like Wilcox, who can't play D or block shots at all.

So where in the job description to become a Spur you fit being a head case... a whiner and the referees favorite target? where in the conditions means get out of a game/series if something doesn;t go your way?

No way he's 6'10, he's listed at 6'11 and he is pretty much head to head length with Timmy. A power-forward listed at 6'11 is a 7 footer in my book.

It's tough to get offensive rebounds when your center is 25 feet from the basket, and I'm not sure how Antonio McDyess isn't a poor man's Kurt Thomas at this point. The Spurs may very well end up splitting up the MLE and LLE among two or three guys. We all know Pop likes vets, and as the euphoria from the draft wears off, it's become apparent to me that he won't be happy with this many rookies on the team.

Oh, you're one of those fans that's worried about him being a headcase even with Popp as his coach. I suppose you don't remember how he played when Larry Brown was in Detroit? They won the le in 04 and gave us a run for our money in 05.

    So once AGAIN:

Tim is about 6'10 too. My only point was he's not a true 7 footer.

And he shoots about 34% from 3 ... is that the best among big men outside Dirk?

What about Troy Murphy, Okur and even Bonner?

Good point, the Spurs FO usually does not do what we all expect, we will see what happens.

    But not Wilcox... please...

I didn't realize that you had personally taken a measuring tape to Tim Duncan and Rasheed Wallace from head to toe. My bad.

Why is everyone so afraid of Sheed? Look how well Artest did with the Rockets last year... now he is the biggest head case of them all.

I didn't ... but I have stood next to them both plenty of times to know neither one is 7 feet and they are about the same size.

All I'm getting at is that to say: "Dyess>Sheed in the San Antonio Spurs system" couldn't be further from the truth IMO. And I feel a lot of people who know the Spurs and basketball would agree with me.

It's been pretty well established over the years that Duncan is much closer to 6'10 than 6'11. And he was never 7'.

Spurs fans should probably be happy with either one. I think Rasheed would behave here. He's friends with Timmy and has a lot of respect for Pop. I don't think he'd be going crazy all the time. McDyess is the exact personality that fits in the Spurs culture and he averaged 10/10 this past season. If they can get either one at a reasonable price, there's probably nothing to complain about.

Well then if Tim Duncan is 6'10 then Drew Gooden is 6'7 and we all know that's not accurate.

It is obvious. If Sheed was a model citizen this board would welcome his experience and skill to the team. But, since he is a strong personality, these nancy boys are worried that he will ruin the Spurs choir boy reps. Take me back to the "BRUISE BROTHER" days. Don't cry, it will be OK.

I love sheed's D and his clutch play. I also love dice and his mastery of the lost art of mid-range shooting.

Sheed is the sexy pick, while Dice is the solid pick. Either one works for me.

McDeyss is twice the player Kurt Thomas is.

More athletic, better rebounder, much better scorer of the basketball.

while I don't own the veracity you do, sayign Dice>sheed in our system does seem inaccurate. A shooting bigman at that 4/5 spot is a staple of Pop's lineups, and while Dice can shoot, Sheed can shoot 3's which is ultimately better for TD, TP, Manu and RJ's spacing.
I like Sheed on this team, but for being a decent (but not great) 3 point shooter, he sure shoots a of a lot of them.

It's possible that he would reign that in a bit and not take shots away from some of the others on this team...but he probably should have been doing that in Detroit as well.
