he is def more of a scoring PF... almost like an SF actually.. but he is around 6'10 and could be a good player. at this point i think our squad needs more defensive minded players than anything but could be interesting.

CG: This is absolutely surprising to me. The Bucks aren't even making the QO, so they're giving up all rights to him. Really wierd. I'm not sure why they would do that.

Now that CV is unrestricted, he's got to be on the list. I wouldn't put him ahead of Sheed or Dyess, but he's definitely moved up a few spots.

Bucks make offer to Sessions but not Villanueva

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Bucks have made qualifying offers to restricted free agents Ramon Sessions and Ersan Ilyasova, but will not make an offer to Charlie Villanueva.

Bucks general manager John Hammond said Monday the offers to Sessions and Ilyasova give them the right to match contract offers from other teams. Villanueva will be free to sign with any team.

NBA teams have until Tuesday to make qualifying offers to their restricted free agents.

Hammond says he did not want to elaborate on the reasons for the decisions.

If the Spurs don't make offer or an attempt to resign Gooden, then I don't think Charlie V would be on their radar as well...

If Sheed and Dice won't come, then he's the 3rd option IMO

This would be an upgrade over Bonner. I think Gooden is the better player but if you could find a way to give away Bonner and free up some money I think a guy like Charlie would really work on this team.

More of a jump shooting big man than a real inside presence.

Not exactly what we're looking for, but I agree, still a good 3rd choice.

When with Toronto, I remember CV telling the media that he and Bosh would be just like Duncan and Robinson.

Upgrade over Bonner? Sure. But with the addition of Jefferson, the starting big opposite Duncan doesn't need to be much of an offensive threat, save for the ability to score without having plays run for him. Rebounding and defense are the main concerns.

with the Bucks not making a qualifying offer to V, this might be an advantage for the Spurs in signing Sheed.

Rumors have it that the Magic are going to make an offer to Sheed, but now with V a UFA, I see him better suited for the Magic. They need a mobile PF to guard the likes of Odom, a player they had trouble with in the finals.

    T.O.'s Twin Towers?
By STEVE BUFFERY -- Toronto Sun

PHOENIX -- Raptors rookie Charlie Villanueva believes there is something special developing between Chris Bosh and himself on the court.

"We're like Tim Duncan and David Robinson," Villanueva said, following the team's morning shootaround at the America West Arena. "But a younger version. I really feel that."

Ha I think thats funny since the real twin towers were built around defense, and Villy is really lacking there. Bosh is decent however

wow i never thought he was available, but if he is; he should be on the top of our list. remember pop said this week that they would be signing a "4", so i'm guessing he's trying to sign someone big enough to guard the big mans in the league and be skilled and mobile enough to not be a defensive liability. C. Villanueva is the man for this job.

I agree that while Villaneuva has quality, he doesn't bring what the Spurs should be looking for now. He's not a good defender and doesn't have a big man's game. At this point, he'd be a consideration only if Pop was trying to revamp the entire philosophy of the Spurs, which isn't happening.

They do, but not making the QO is a pretty telling sign that they have no intention of using them.

    Very surprising.

I thought, especially after the RJ trade, they would made the QO to him.

I think CV would be my 4th option behind Sheed, McDyess and Zaza
