30 days for causing an accident that kills a man. Nice to see human life is worth 30 days. Smith is a d-bag.
how does this relate to SPURS NEWS?
NBA forum?
Sadly in a lot of cases, it's worth less.
I feel for JR. His best friend died as a result of his shennanigans. That's likely worse punishment than any jail time he will be serving.
He had already totalled Carmello's vehicle on the way to a game.
On the day he killed his friend, he went around a car stopped at a stop sign at a high rate of speed, went through the intersection without stopping (of course), and got creamed by another car.
He just decided not to show up for a pre-trial hearing, over that wreck, and got cited for contempt.
A few months after the wreck that killed his friend, he was arrested in a club for beating a woman, pouring champagne on her, apologizing, then spitting on her, shoving her some more, and tearing her dress.
Last summer he got pulled over and the police found an unregistered firearm, but his lawyers made that one go away.
He got railed on by BlackSportsOnline for flashing gang signs in Game 4 of the WCF this season.
I think they are being totally unfair making him serve 30 days in jail. And I am still very disappointed that the Spurs didn't sign him. He would have fit in so well here.
But according to some here JR Smith is much > than Mickael Pietrus as a basketball player and someone even said he would never sign Pietrus to a contract of any kind but he'd sign JR in a heartbeat.
C'mon lighten up already what's a few traffic violations and firearms violations when it comes to winning basketball games.
do not collect a new big contract.
