Yes he was. Many believed that was the main reason the Spurs decided to let him walk.
Alvin Robertson got in trouble.
Lloyd Daniels too.
Rodman was at least guilty of being weird.
Willie Anderson got many babies and some law issues.
Cadillac Anderson looking like a Pinto.
Pop had to have punched a journalist by now.
Lucas smoked a doobie or two and he was our coach!
Hey, can we make a Spurs All-Choirboy team? That ought to be easy.
Yes he was. Many believed that was the main reason the Spurs decided to let him walk.
Here's one from the old Spurs: Rich Jones. I remember when he got traded to New Jersey that he didn't come back to play games in SA because there was a warrant out for his arrest. I used to cut his grass (lawn, that is) back in the day when we both lived on Willow Moss in San Pedro Hills.
He was accused of more than rape .. that was a brutal gang rape with a couple other NBA players
Oh I forgot who the other player was involved.. I looked it up and it was Chauncey Billups, Mercer and two other guys. The girl who Antoine Walker's ex (or something like that) and it took place in Walker's house.
The only one I know of on recent Spurs teams (last couple years) is Kurt Thomas -- but those domestic charges were long before he was a Spur.
Finley, Bonner and Vaughn
Sucking that much is a federal crime
Richard Jefferson http://ballhype.com/story/nets_jeffe..._in_minnesota/
your next Lebron
we would have won that year! The spurs could have beat the pistons.![]()
There have been a lot fewer charges against Spurs players than against our City Council members. Why dredge that old up?
Didn't he also get into a fight right outside the practice facility?
I have to say...... I saw him a few times during his stint in SA. I'm a pretty big fellow myself (6'4" 270lb), but I can definitely say that he was one of the few players that looked like he could whoop your ass just by looking at you funny. I think he was a black belt in some martial art as well. That's just sick. Some other badasses were Charles Oakley and Karl Malone.
Those guys are some big boys that I definitely wouldn't wanna meet in a dark alley.
Didn't the fat 7-footer we got from the Knicks get accused by a hooker of assaulting her and laying on top of her too long or something like that?
I found it; Jackie Butler.
A Warning To The Women Of San Antonio

This comes our way from Media Take Out, and there's probably no real reason to believe that it's true, but it's a of a story nonetheless. A woman claims that she met former New York Knick and current San Antonio Spur Jackie Butler at the 40/40 Club in New York a few months ago.
After a night of good conversation, Chandra and the chubby forward decided to go back to his place - and that's when things began to go wrong. Chandra explained, "he was coming on to me very strong and I told him I was tipsy." And when she finally agreed to have sex with him, it wasn't at all what she bargained for. Chandra tells us, "he laid on top of me with all his weight ... breathing hard like he was out of control and kissing on my neck." And after it was all over she claims, "I went into the bathroom to spit several times and then I finally threw up."
When Chandra got home the next day she realized that she forgot her $600 Avirex jacket in Butler's jeep. She immediately contacted Butler and asked him to return the jacket, but he refused. Chandra, a receptionist, even offered to pay to have the jacket shipped to her, but the $7 million NBA player still refused. Finally, Butler stopped taking her calls.
That's what the life of an NBA superstar is all about: vomit-inducing sex and Avirex jacket thievery. San Antonio's probably a much better place for Butler, as you're way less likely to find a woman wearing a $600 jacket there. I'm sure there are still plenty of girls he can make puke, though.

I remembered it was Chauncey who people seem to forget was involved. I know he settled out of court, too.
Then you are not informed. What Mercer was accused of was worse than Kobe. It was public knowledge long before the Spurs traded for him.
Doesnt he have a kid who plays in the NFL? I thought ive read that somewhere.
Holy . I had no idea about this and didn't know Chauncey was involved. That makes me sad.
From Out of Bounds: Inside the NBA's Culture of Rape, Violence, and Crime by Jeff BenedictDetective David McGann was off duty when his supervisor at the Waltham Police Department called him at home at nine A.M. on November 11, 1997. A nurse at the Boston Medical Center had telephoned the Waltham PD and reported that a rape victim had come in the previous night, suffering from shock. A rape-kit examination revealed injuries to her throat, cervix, and rectum, along with bruising on her back consistent with someone being dragged across a rug. Sperm had been retrieved from her vagina. The victim had been referred to a nurse-psychologist and was scheduled to be discharged to her home later in the morning.
For McGann, an experienced sex crimes investigator, brutal details were nothing out of the ordinary. What he heard next, however, was. The victim in this case reported her assault took place inside a Waltham luxury condominium belonging to Boston Celtics superstar Antoine Walker. And she had accused Walker’s teammates Ron Mercer and Chauncey Billups, along with Walker’s roommate of raping her.
Yeah it sounded pretty messed up. It in Antoine Walker's house and he was there at the house(but not taking part). The girl was his ex. Supposedly at one point during the rape, he opened the door, they asked him if he wanted to get in on it and he just walked away. There were charges filed against him too, as well as Billups, Mercer and two others. And Walker's attorney also filed something against Chauncey/Mercer. I believe everyone settled out of court in the end.
Yeah such public knowledge it was never brought up here.
Keep rooting for your pasty gangsters up in Indy and StFU.
Thats really dissapointing if Chauncey was involved. I always thought he was a pretty good guy.
It has been discussed here:
