I'm fairly amused that you guys thought I was serious with that trade.

This is the NBA where anything can happen.
"ol Spurs fans that about Finley non-stop then expect to be able to trade him for a promising young player."
hey dumb there's the reason for my reply. Blazers will have Hedo, Batum, Outlaw, Webster at SF.

I said Batum OR Fernandez. Not both. Learn to read.
If you didn't respond to mypost that argument would fly, but the fact you got defensive and responded with "ROFL Suns fan all they need to do is throw in a draft pick and cash anything can happen" makes it pretty obvious you're just now claiming the trade was a joke after realizing how re ed it sounded.
Why are you getting so defensive if it wasn't serious?
PS - it still wouldn't work, and it would still be re ed for Portland to do.
Doesn't change the fact they have no reason to do that trade.
Finley salary: 2.5 million for 1 year
Boner salary: 2.97 million for 2 years
Fernandez salary: 1.08 million for 2 years
Batum salary: 1.04 million for 2 years
I don't expect a trade to happen. But I can think wishfully, can't I? Perhaps you didn't notice but most Spurs fans want Bonner/Finley gone. My post was a positive spin for us on the Hedo signing.
So what do you expect the Blazers to do with all their SF now? Why sign Hedo when they have "a promising young player" as you put it.
Blazers will be looking to shed cap space.
Which that trade doesn't do at all.
And idk what Portland will do with their SF, they'll either try to get a player for them or as you said get cap space.
Blazers could get cash considerations and also buyout Finley.
Plus, Frye is currently a restricted FA. He may be on the Spurs radar, so a sign and trade is a possibility.
Yeah theres no way Portland gets something out of trading with us, plus finley's contract I believe is guaranteed so buying him out would still go on their cap.
they still need a decent starting C though.
Not true. If Portland wanted a 1st round draft pick and where high on a prospect like Splitter, they could definitely get something out of a deal talent wise, while clearing roster space and saving money.
hedo will take some pressure off of roy but i still see the blazers as a collection of a bunch of B+ players. there really is no dominant player on the team and the teams seems to lack a focus.
brandon roy isn't dominant? lamarcus aldridge isn't dominant?
lamarcus just needs to get more looks and demand the ball more. he shoots a good %
He shoots a good percentage for a jumpshooting big. Roy is coming into his own but he isn't quite dominant yet. What they need is a solid PG.
