dont u get double pay for public holidays?
To all who didn't know, I'm active duty USAF, and work in the communications field. I got a call at 4 in the morning from my helpdesk, telling me a piece of equipment was having temperature issues. So I drive in to work, head to that building. Turns out the AC in that room is off, which is overheating the equipment.
"No problem!", I say. I'll just call up the civilian guys in charge of HVAC stuff! I'll tell them it's a priority 1 outage, and that means they'll have to come over here as quick as possible!
I called at 5:30. It's now 7.
At least if they were military, I could chew their ass out for ineptness. And, ya know, maybe get the F*** home sometime today!
I'm already at the park throwing down some ribs and sausage.
Sure don't. Military is on salary. We work whatever hours they tell us to. But we're also allowed to get out a bit early sometimes if we need to do something off-base, like get a vehicle registered.
Hey, gotta pay for that free health care somehow, right?
I am here at work from 3-7, but I should get time and a half and my friends are saving me some bbq!![]()
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph won't save you Jack. They need to feed 5000 mouths with this and a loaf of bread.
It is only about 100 youth that will be at the picnic, but since at least half of them are teenage boys, it will feel like feeding $5,000.![]()
i heard you like sausages...raw or cooked?
How did this scenario ever end up working out after all?
