Looks like in the very least we will have a decision soon.

Would be just dandy if he signs with the Spurs. The roster really really shapes up if McDyess signs.

Maxiell get his extension before the Billups trade, so cap space in 2009 wasn't a factor.

Shamsport has a $5M salary in 09/10. He doesn't makes guesses. If he said that it's a flat structure, it's because he learned it from a league source.
    I'm at 99% sure it's $5M for Maxiell.

I've exchanged some emails with Mark (the owner of ShamSports) in the past, and he has his sources; if it's reasonable to get the actual structure of the contract, he'll get it. That's not to say his site is 100% flaw-free, but it's better than the rest.

Reguardless the only way you get information from the Spurs side is if you are an agent of a player the front office is talking about, or a player on the roster the Spurs are talking about.

My sources are ussually first, second or third hand. Anything beyond that with the Spurs gets lost in translation like a game of telephone.
True, though agents are often very willing to reveal the specs of a deal they have negotiated, particularly if it has some nice details that reflect well on the agent.

I wonder how people could think that Detroit could be a CONTENDER next year, regardless of Dice or no Dice. OK, even if they got Boozer for Hamilton in some kind of a trade, that still wouldn't make them a contender in my opinion.

Anyway, I just hope that McDyess will take us over a rebuilding Pistons team.

Wonder how long before Tayshaun is a Spur?

    Sorry, I hadn't seen that.
Well, since Boston is packed with veteran players and I don't see any other team with a desire as bad as we have for a guy like Dice, let's just hope things go our way.

Well, Bonner+Mason+Finley should get us Prince. The only way I do that deal is if we can get Mason back after a buyout.
Sorry, that won't happen. Prince or Nocioni wouldn't be traded for with RJ as the starting SF. It would be nice though.

That is how David Aldrige gets his information. Even he has admitted that he has a hard time getting Spurs information.
The Spurs like the Patriots keep everything close to the vest!!!

That is the real usage for the term "CIA Pop!!"

I am interested in Prince, but he would not be my first option. I have looked at the deal and I was just stating the facts for somone asking a question.
    I disagree.

RJ is more explosive than Tayshun or Nocioni.

The Spurs got the right guy to fill the SF spot.

I brought up the Prince discussion for the possible/forseeable future (after Jefferson), not necessarily this season, though his defense on the wing would be nice going into the season. If Phila's trade scenario worked out and we'd get Mason back I'd pull the trigger.

I haven't seen these numbers posted anywhere, so I apologize in advance if I'm mistaken.

He came off the bench a large chunk of the season when the Pistons were trying to forcefeed Amir Johnson the starting role, and when they weren't doing that they went small to placate AI and Rip and started Tayshaun at the 4. They finally gave up and started McDyess about the last 30 games (the final regular season game I think he was given the night off to rest).

    As a starter McDyess averaged:

    34.9 minutes 12.1 points (.514%) 11.0 rebounds 1.2 blocks

    As a sub :

    25.6 minutes 7.3 points (.505) 8.5 rebounds 0.5 blocks

Man, Tayshaun in silver and black has been a wet dream for quite some time. But right now, with RJ, this isn't really the position which we need help for. Just get Dice, and I for one will be a very happy man.

Yeah, that's nice to see. The Spurs won't need him to play that much but at least it appears as if he has a lot left in the tank.

When McDyess started at center, he averaged 16 points, 15.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.

    Timvp,

I didn't know McDyess played some C in Detroit. Those are nice stats. If we can get 10 & 8 with a block shot a game from him would help TD tremendously!!

Not to mention guarding the other team's best big!

Tim hasn't been able to play help defense like that since...2003.

This combined with Pop limiting his minutes, should help Duncan's offense as well.

Listened to Chuck Miketinac on ESPN 1250 tonight. He said the Spurs were more interested in Davis and Bass than McDyess. Not sure what's true or not, but being local, I'm more apt to believe Chuck.
That is not even close to what he said...this kind of is why those in the business- athletes, agents, front office people, media types...think these message boards are full of crap. Actually there is alot of great information, especially in here, but the trick is wading through all the bags who throw non-credible info out there as fact. Nice try though.

That fills me in on McDyess; I didn't know all that much about him. He seems like a really good guy, I hope we help him win at least one ring.
