IMHO, this is just another sign that Hollywood is out of original ideas. Besides the Jetsons were blondes so a brunette hottie will have to go blonde.
FML!! Leave my cartoon alone!
Having said that, who should play all the characters?
Word is its been in the works for awhile now. And currently its slated for a 2012 release. You can read it here, and the stuff about a movie has even made it to the wikipedia page (here). And guess who is said to be helming it? Robert Rodriguez. Yep...and its to be a live action film too.
As a kid, The Flinstones and The Jetsons were my favourite shows to watch...oh and the 90's X-men series as well. Never did mind watching an episode again and again...they were after all in constant reruns on Cartoon Network. Funny how its about families living way back in the past and in the future...maybe the present wasn't all that great? Anyhow the Flinstones had two live action films...and they were...err...not good...the second was worst. I'm thinking there's a chance that the Jetsons could be fun. Futuristic movies have always held people's interest. Mostly we have seen the action based or dystopian future movies...maybe its time we see a fun adventure (family friendly?) flick? The costumes would certainly be something to watch won't it?

Live-action future film
In May 2007, director Robert Rodriguez entered talks with Universal Studios and Warner Bros. to film a live action film adaptation of The Jetsons for a potential 2009 theatrical release. He had also met with Universal Studios to direct a film adaptation of Land of the Lost. Rodriguez was uncertain which project he would pursue next, though the latest script draft for The Jetsons by assigned writer Adam Goldberg was further along in development.[8] Denise Di Novi and Donald De Line have signed on to produce the film, with Hanna-Barbera Productions financing it. In January 2009, the film was pushed back to 2012.

Yeah, he was great in The Flintstones!!
Lindsay Lohan better shoot off her resume real quick for this one!!
I loved the Jetsons when I was a kid, but frankly a movie adaptation just sounds like a horrible idea. the only way the Jetsons should be revived is as a cartoon if at all, and then only on tv, not the silver screen.
He failed in Speed Racer.
How about Jim Carrey as George?![]()
Yeah, he sucked in Speed Racer.
Carrey would be good.![]()
The voice of Astro?![]()
that's who i first thought of to play george... good call!
My failure senses are more than tingling.
If they keep it as a cartoon, it might not fail. Live-action = fail
Well, good or bad, I will definitely have to add it to my DVD collection when it's released.
ChumpDumper to not watch The Jetsons in 2012.
+1
Hollywood just adapting old cartoons and comics superheroes.
is getting old.
barney frank
I always pictured Bob Saget as George.
Oh, don't even go there.
What's next? Tom & Jerry?![]()
actually... yes.
![]()
Damn it!
He needs to get back to what made his films so likeable back in the day: showing Salma Hayek's s.
the Jetsons.
Until Machete and Sin City's sequel are released, I don't want to hear about any other Rodriguez projects.
Robert Rodriguez sucks balls.
Lol yeah, that character is 100% devito![]()
