    How old are you, 12?
Just giving my opinion in a respectful way.
If you don't like it, I suggest putting me on your ignore list.
    Thanks
...and as usual, your opinion is baseless and worthless. But whatever makes you happy, Laker fan.

You know how Shaq claims the his slogan is win a ring for the king?
Well, the Spurs slogan should be Win the prize for the Dice.

Who, exactly, was out there that was a better fit? Dice has been relatively injury-free the last few years, and has fewer miles on his legs than the average 34yo. He also averaged 10/10 last year. MLE for 2 years, and a half-guarunteed 3rd year as a sweetner, is a very reasonable deal.

    You should be pinked.
One of the beauties of this place is that people aren't moderated for their opinions.

Keeping up your rep as biggest tool on the board, I see.

Arthritic? But for the trade he would have played all 82 games last year. And he average 10/10. So yeah, I'll take him.

I think 3 years for a old player is too much. I like McDyess, but I don't think he's going to help our problems with faster, younger and more athletic teams.

I think we've had success with older players in spot roles (Kersey, Willis, Kerr), but when we count on them in more extended roles, it never seems to work out.

If it's the case, it isn't even a full MLE contract. It's likely a contract with a flat structure. ($5.854M for each year)
Wait, so do the Spurs have some of the MLE left?

When's the last time the Spurs signed three guys in one day?

Seriously McDyess is the best possible acquisition for this team. People can talk about Wallace being a better fit or Gortat being younger but there is such a thing as production on the court. If you stripped the last names off the jerseys and watched each FA big man play throughout last season, I can guarantee you that McDyess would be the overwhelming favorite on this board.

And our "arthritic old man" is still better than your 20 year old who looks like an old man and has already been hurt as much as McDyess almost.

You are just talking out of your ass now. You obviously didn't even watch him last year. Your contract argument would have some validity if we weren't only looking at the next 2 or 3 seasons as our championship window.

According to Yahoo, it's a 3 year, 15 million dollar deal.

If so, I'm very disappointed. He's 35, FFS. I would have rather have had Big Baby, or some other younger player.

Spurs never seem to learn when it comes to signing old players.
And Big Baby was going to help with more athletic teams? Lol...fail.

If it's 3 years, $15 million flat it will be interesting to see how it is structured.

If I'm understanding what I'm reading, it seems they gave him the full MLE over the first two years then partially guaranteed the third at around 50%. That would necessitate the contract structure being the first two years at $11.69 million total and the third year at around $3.31 million with $1.65 million guaranteed.

No, he doesn't help us get more athletic. Jefferson, Blair, and a healthy Ginobili WILL fix that problem. McDyess fixes a different problem.

Did I mention that I have a secret anonymous source who told me through twitter that the Spurs were going to do a sign and trade. Wait, now I hear that it is only a trade ! but I can give no links at all or any confirmation. Just trust me.

I am also selling beachfront property in Kansas - it's beautiful, right beside the Pacific Ocean.

And I have about 25 total posts here on Spurstalk.
