Some people don't understand the salary cap. If Odom played for the Cavs last season, they could have.

No one reads this really smart post. You trully are too smart for the rest of this forum.

I can't believe this is true. That contract would be so bad.... wow. LeBron has to leave if this is true.

Did he win the lottery and choose to take his money in the form of a 6 year annuity? Please don't tell me this is basketball related.

That wasn't even a comeback attempt. I just don't care that I got corrected. Big ing deal-I was wrong about something and made myself look dumb. Who cares? It's not the first time it's happened on this forum and it probably won't be the last. I know he's right. Get off my nuts, thanks

Cleveland is just setting up Varejao as the face of the franchise after Bron-Bron bolts in '10.
Indeed Anderson Jeffrey Verejao will be more than enough to put the fans in the stands

There has to be something that we're not seeing here. The only scenario I can see that makes sense is that they are paying him about 3 mil a year for his actual basketball abilities and that he muled 32 million dollars worth of coke back with him on his most recent trip back to South America.

Or the Cavs are ing re ed.

That's about $6.67 million starting. The base salary itself isn't nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be (about $1M more than MLE), but the number of years is straight up lunacy. WTF was Danny Ferry thinking giving this guy 6 years?

EDIT: , ESPN reported it as $42.5M with the last year not fully guaranteed. That would mean his starting salary would be the MLE roughly. When you see Gortat get the MLE, Sideshow Bob doesn't seem so bad.

If those ESPN numbers are correct then I'll rescind my comment that the Cavs are " ing re ed" in favor of ranking them as "kinda dumb."

It's 42.5 over 6. So it's the MLE over 6 years with 8% raises. The 6th year is partially guaranteed so full MLE is a good deal. What I'd expect to resign him.

Edit* It can reach 50mil total with some unknown incentives. I assume incentives count against the cap.

Wow, overpaid to the max. I figured him for roughly MLE money.

Edit: posted that after reading first page. Now that I've read the second, they overpaid a bit, and I'm suprised about the 6 years, but it's not as bad as it first looked.

As for the incentives, I bet he gets that extra 8mil if they win it all next year!
