also guys....there is about a 100% chance that morey will NOT use the MLE on a free agent but instead use it on our 2nd rounders to sign them to longer deals. morey isn't going to repeat the landry mistake again.
Morey said he is pursuing another free agent, and hoped to announce another signing "in the next week or two." But he said the Rockets mostly likely would acquire a center to replace Yao through a trade this summer.

I'd offer up McGrady, Battier and Landry for Stoudamire + Jrich or Barbosa.

If that went through we could potentially not be a lottery team in 2009 with a nice starting line up for a run and gun team.
Surely J-Rich will be agglutinated with Amare, so Barbosa isn't gonna come to Houston anyways. With the 7'6 huge piece of **** out for next season, Rockets will have no big guy to work as the axis in their lento half-court offense. Run-gun seems to be the only way for Rockets to keep themselves looking like a contender next season.

The one good thing about the 2009-2010 season is that the Rockets are very used to playing without Yao. There will be little to no chemistry problem...Trevor Ariza seems like a player who will fit in with Adelman's offense.

I figured they would have changed that rule by now. I remember the NBA wasn't too happy about Sean Elliott returning mid-season after they granted that exception to the Spurs when he got a kidney transplant in 99-00.

Can they get another disabled exception for T-mac?
Nope. They were trying to decide whether to apply for it using T-Mac or Yao. But they decided since Yao is more likely to miss all of next season, they would use it on him instead of McGrady

Battier did an excellent job on Kobe. Probably as good as anyone in the league 1v1.
This is true...But that shows how amazing Kobe is because he still played great

One thing I don't understand about Ariza's move... why did he leave the Lakers??? I may be wrong, but weren't they willing to offer him the MLE? Didn't he leave because he wanted a contract above the MLE?

So, the Lakers didn't want him back because they preferred Artest? Interesting.

Not yet. I think Gortat wants to see the market more and would prefer to see how much he could get before he signs an offer sheet.

Gortat said he didn't want to come to Houston because their is too much pressure trying to replace Yao
I don't know how I would take this if I were a Dallas fan. Too much pressure?? Are you joking? I thought that is what the NBA was about... to go and showcase your skills. Hmmm... sounds like he is a

You are only 19 but time can never help you quit being an idiot, oppositely it keeps aggravating your stupidity day in and day out. It will be pretty interesting to calibrate what kind of idiot you may become when reaching LJ's age, provided you can live that long without committing suicide midway by eating some lizard .

According to Mitch, David Lee was playing hardball and wanted too much...and had to move in for Artest fast when negotiations for Ariza were going nowhere.

Would you prefer an 8.9 ppg and 4.6 rebound over Artest for the same price?

You cant judge by statistics when two players had different roles on different teams. if you think Artest will average 15 PPG, then for a 40% career FG guy, that will take him about 14 shots when you count in FT and maybe a made 3PTer or two. Who does he take those shots from? Pau Gasol? Kobe Bryant? Odom?

Its all about filling a role, and im not sure whether Artest can do that.
