Well, if you look at the roster on spurs.com, RJ doesn't have any number yet. None of the new players or draft picks do, photo ops notwithstanding. Manu was ohotgraphed with #6 originally, until the AJ-niks raised a fit.
Don't go by summer league, either, as someone was sporting #44 not too long ago.I think they do the number thing on the first day of training camp, and I think there is a heirarchy based on veteran status. RJ may be the one searching for a new number.

People are making a bigger deal about Brandon Bass to Magic than this I mean on NBA.com they had it on the first slide and about McDyess they just wrote a 3 paragraph article.
The media making hardly ever makes a big deal when the Spurs make moves. Its nothing new.

If he had signed with the Lakers, there would be no end to the viewpoints, break downs, opinions on how the Lakers are UNBEATABLE, what Dice had for breakfast, how he's been best friends with Kobe since he was 2 years old, etc.
