Mavs paid Orlando in the 4 team trade and now Orlando is using that money to pay Gortat

Anyways, after this move, I'd have to say Orlando got better. Adding Bass, Vince, and getting a healthy Nelson back > Hedo.

Ya, this has been a really cut-throat free agency period. Teams just seem to be doing the signing equivalent of -blocking one another, now. So, where next for the Mavs? Obviously a F/C, right? Not alot left for FA. What kind of trade-able assets would you consider letting go for a Clipper big man?

What? Gortat or not, the Mavs have beaten your old asses down consistently for a few years now.

Guess Dampier will just have to trot out there again. Big deal. Until you have someone that can defend Dirk, it's still Mavs>Spurs.

Why are Spurs fans laughing? That's kinda like Mavs fans laughing when Baron Davis left GS. Mavs fans never get to talk to Warriors fans - so thank God there is no such thing as Warriors fans.

Don't talk to to your daddy.

It was painfully stupid on their parts not to follow the money. I would be marching to AAC with torches and pitchforks, you're FO has to learn somehow!

WHo knows time will tell. With all seriousness though....Mavs should not jump and make a dumb trade. Damp can start and play 30 mins a game. Re-sign Hollins and get someone else for half the MLE...maybe Gooden or someone who can also play PF.

Losing Gortat is not a big deal....losing Bass to the same team is what sucks ass. Mavs sorta got played...but what goes around comes around and I'm sure Cuban will be waiting to stick it to the Magic eventually

I was really hoping for the guy, but it's not like the season hinges on the acquisition of Gortat. If they got him, great. If not, then there are other options. He's a fun guy to watch and I really wanted him in Dallas. , HE wanted to be in Dallas.

Now Otis is going to be stuck with a highly-paid rent-a-player that's not going to get the minutes he wants and is wondering where his next home will be. Gortat will play, because he's a team player, but he can't be that happy about this. It's not what he wanted, ultimately. I hope this comes back to bite Otis right in the ing ass.
