Take it for what it's worth. I also hear he canceled his appearance at the Lakers DVD signing.LAS VEGAS -- Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said tonight he was "not as hopeful" of re-signing unrestricted free agent Lamar Odom "as I was Friday." Asked why, Kupchak said, "It's just a feeling you get. You have conversations with the player's representative and, right now, I'm not sure we're on the same page."
Asked during halftime of the Lakers-Clippers summer league game, if he was the point of throwing up his hands in frustration, Kupchak said, "Perhaps."
Kupchak said he had no further plans to talk with Odom's agent, Jeff Schwartz.
"I understand it's a process. I am surprised it's taken us so long to get to this point."
It's believed the Lakers have offered Odom a deal of more than $8 million per season. It's also believed that there are no other teams currently courting Odom, who made $11.4 million last season in the final year of a six-season deal he signed with Miami.

Already posted on the Odom getting closer... thread.
Can you trade a trade exception?
That 8mil that Orlando hold might be of use to a team that wants to sign Lamar...
My bet on this: the Jazz match Millsap and move Boozer somewhere, the Blazers offer Lamar 4yrs 32mil and he jumps on it. Seems like he's pretty pissed at the Lakers right now - another team makes him a reasonable offer and I think he's gone in a fit of pique!
I dont blame Odom, it's his last shot at a rich and lengthy contract.
Lakers have actually raised their offer again per LATimes.
It's up to $9 million/year for 3 years now. I think Odom is holding out for 4-5 years and the deal is done.
this is kind of amusing. if lakers do sign odom for 9 million per year, they will be at $84 million during the summer of 2010 with only 7 players. definitely another all in move. looks like every team is going all or nothing in next few years. teams like the magic, celtics, lakers, and to a lesser extent, the spurs are maxing out their talent and decreasing flexibility.
He definitely wants 5 years. A ring is not a sure thing but money sure as is.
tee, hee.
