He is approaching legendary level if he keeps it up imo.

Since he took over as a GM he managed to go from a contending team with a lot of All-star level players with great individual talent to a team that probably will not see playoffs for years to come.

I almost feel bad for all the good Phoenix fans. (I am sure they are somewhere out there; not many on this board)

If he does not make some trades quickly his starting five next year will look like this:

PG: Steve Nash - One of the most overrated players of all times. Possibly the worst defensive PG in the league who is rapidly regresing and loosing any trade value left.

SG: Barbosa - A nice energy player but he really is not created to be a starting player. As Phoenix depth is really bad he will probably be forced to start.

SF: Jason Richardson - He can put up some nice stats but he is not a type of player that can lead a team to a victory. Can't expect much consistency or defence by him.

PF: Amare - Once regarded as one of the best and most talented players in the league has injury problems; he has a low basketball IQ and mainly uses his athleticism to get anything done.

C: Robin Lope - Still very very raw player who can be a good role player one day if he keeps working hard. And that time is probably a couple of years away. But a starting center in the NBA next season? Hardly...

    ------------------

Bottom line... I feel Kerr is cementing his place as the worst GM in the NBA right now.

He took over a team that was doomed. I certainly won't be mad if Kerr is fired, but once the Suns lost in 2007, that team needed a Pau Gasol type trade or they were done. I don't blame Kerr for not being able to make a Pau Gasol type trade. Any GM hired would have sucked because they would have had to listen to Sarver who is too egotistical and stubborn to accept the fact he knows nothing about basketball.

Kerr is still secretly working as a covert agent for the Spurs. Once he has completely obliterated the Suns franchise and his collusion is complete, he will resign and find a comfy assistant position in San Antonio.

I agree with Iggy. This team never had a commitment to anything, BUT running and gunning. The biggest collection of shot first, ask questions later players on one team. This is the result you get. I cant blame Kerr for trying to change the defensive at ude of that team, but its a lost cause.

Kerr got caught between an owner more worried about the bottom line than winning and his own flawed belief that he could transform the Suns from the DAntoni culture to the Popovich culture overnight.

All the real mistakes were done before his watch.

The real turning point was letting Joe Johnson go - or trading him - instead of getting rid of Marion earlier. They had too many huge contracts and held tight-fisted to them too long, having to sell off their draft picks to keep a firmer financial line.

The Shaq trade didn't work but that was a semi-last gasp.

to be fair, amare has had injuries and a portion of that team is also overrated. add to that,d'antoni's inability to get a team to play defense and you have a bad environment to work in.

but kerr has made his fair share of mistakes, including bringing in shaq and getting rid of terry porter.

Yeah, Nash is just a terrible point guard. How can any team live with a guy who shot over 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three and 90 percent from the line last season. His 16 ppg and 10 apg aren't even top 10 in the league are they?

The let Joe go. They traded draft picks for cash and Sarver took control before Kerr took the reigns. Limiting his capabilities were the combined penny pinching of sarver along with Nash's undermining tactics. He was trying to put an emphasis on what it takes to win playoff basketball and chose a coach to implement it. Those are mindsets and game plans that take a season or two to accomplish. It just was't fun enough for the Nash es. They staged a mutiny and Kerr was left with a lose-lose situation.

Certainly, Kerr must accept some of the responsibility, but Sarver and Nash hold the majority...IMO
