I'd waive Hill. Bell is clearly the superior player.
he doesn't have a contract how can he be waived?
sorry maybe i am confusing the word with cut
cannot see them waving his rights either
I'd waive Hill. Bell is clearly the superior player.
As much improvement as Malik has shown to this point, he could continue to work on his game in Austin. Going into the season with Parker, Hill, Mason, Ginobli, Jefferson, Finley and probably Williams there might not be much opportunity for Harriston to earn minutes.
If he got a guaranteed contract but got sent down to the d-league initially, I don't think I'd be too surprised or disappointed.
I love sarcasm.
I too have found that in these series of tubes
McClinton looks like a guy who you push to Europe for a year. He needs the two-a-day practices and he should thrive in the European type of play. I don't think his growth would be potentially as high in the D-League just because the D-League is more open and he'd thrive in the openness. He needs to figure out how to adapt to chaos.
James Gist apparently left his game at last years summer league.
I know, but how could RC pass up on the chance to waive that useless dark Frenchie and find some good ol' deserving 'murican to take a job back from a filthy immigrant?
Sure they'll waive his rights...if they want him to play for the Toros. Pretty sure that's how it works. Yes, he'd be eligible to join another NBA team, but the way he's playing I don't think teams will be lining up to secure his services.
For both McClinton and Gist, I wouldn't be surprised if both are waived and allowed to join the Toros with the promise that they'll get hard looks for that 15th spot throughout the season and into next year.
i will forever reference hill as bell now
I remember last year they had some type of list of players who were willing to go to Europe, and Gist was one of them. I wonder if McClinton would be ok with Europe.
Yeah I know what you mean. And I like this kid Harrison, much more than Hairston.
Clearly
But what about harrison and hairston. they had similar numbers, who to waive?
yea seriously.
I need a password to play it![]()
He didn't really have a "game" last year...he just hustled his ass off and used his god-given athletic ability to his advantage.
As funny as it sounds, now that he's improved his skills he doesn't know what to do!I think he's struggling with how he and his newly found skills fit in with the system.
Definitely think spending time in the Spurs system is the best medicine to cure his dilemma of actually possesing a "game" this time around.
He's a 3 in the league right? He should get minutes behind Jefferson, Mason and Manu will trade time as will Hill at points. Jefferson shouldn't be asked to play the 3 without significant minutes from a quality backup and Malik seems to be the obvious "best" choice not Gist. Bowen's possible return could put a monkey wrnech in that though.
The Spurs could start the season with 4 rookies on the active roster.
He has a different role than he had last year. He played the paint last year...this year it seems like he's just been floating around the perimeter. I dont think that type of game fits his style.
I just hope the Spurs get some insurance for the 5 spot and hopefully that means Bonner is gone. Oh, I forgot Finley was back too so forget the Hairston statement. Though I think he should get Finley's minutes and Fin should be this years Steve Smith.
I guess "insurance" would be Radoslav.
As much as I hate to say it...Finley for 10 minutes a game seems likely and not necessarily a bad choice. He doesn't bring the driving and finishing ability of Harrison, but he's a MUCH better shooter...even if Malik has improved in that area.
I'm not saying Harrison finding his way on the active roster and in the rotation is impossible...just that it wouldn't necessarily hurt for him to continue to develop/improve those skills in Austin, because he's far from a complete player.
if he can make shots sure, but i saw plenty of games where he couldn't hit anything. What good is a shooter that cannot make shots or play defense
He better be. I feel bad for the guy. I wonder how his confidence is right now.
yea but Malik's defense>Finley x 10
