Nice.
According to this:

Blair has been locked up by the Spurs for 4 years.
Definitely good balance of investment and risk.
wasnt it 4 years the other day?
Originally I heard 3 years (with the 3rd being an option?). But if it's 4 then all the better. Hes cheap enough that even if he were to get hurt and be completely out of the game it wouldn't hurt us too much. But if hes fine then we'll be set up for success for a while.
The article says 3.8M over 4 years with the 4th year being only partially guaranteed. Thats 950K per season. Not bad at all.
“It's everything I've ever dreamed of,” Blair said. “I thank God every night before I go to sleep for putting me in this situation. I didn't go where I wanted to go (in the draft), but I fell in the perfect place.”
Its all you my friend, all you.
Nice to see the Spurs giving Blair some kind of security down the road.
If we have sucess the next 4 years....Holy !!!!!
WE are gonna be back!!!!!!!!!
Revenge of the Spurs Mother er!!!!!!!
You hear that Laker fan!?
Quit acting like a punk.
If this guy can stay healthy and be everything that he was projected to be, then this was indeed a good investment. And a smart investment for the future as the transition from the Duncan years.
Woah, someone hasn't had their Caffé Latte with amaretto, whipped cream, cherry and extra gay.
hahahahaha.
Comparisons with Paul Millsap come to mind. Both are 2nd round picks and were great rebounders in college. Millsap is more athletic but Blair is bigger and stronger. Millsap got rewarded with a $32M contract and this is the kind of money Blair can look forward to if he lives up to expectations. And he won't sign his next contract in a food court, that's for sure..LOL
With Blair signed on the cheap for 4 years, and Haislip making less than 1 mil for the next 2 years, the Spurs may have 2 bargain bigs. When you look at how much many NBA teams pay to mediocre bigs, it is a real savings.
Damn, what a great deal. That's real cheap for the type of potential he is.
I am glad he is happy with his deal, everything he does seems humble and sincere, gotta like him.
Today MSG network in NY is showing the Knicks summer league game, and they aired yesterdays this morning. First off, is one of the local SA stations doing this? Secondly, after seeing both Jordan Hill and Blair play I like Blair more, it is crazy they were seperated by more than 30 picks.
blair will still be underpaid compared to the lottery picks b4 him...thats just lame and luck of the draw for him....
Good move, now you have his bird rights if he turns out to be a solid player. What is it last 2 years team options?
timvp broke it down like this.

Exactly; if he turns out to be a good player, this is an extremely cheap deal for him and will make it easier to afford good talent to surround Duncan with in his remaining NBA career.
Have you looked recently at the back cover of Rush's 2112 album?? let's just say that people who live in glass houses and wear silk kimonos shouldn't throw stones!
Blair is going to be the steal of the draft by far.
4 years for what bonner makes in one?
This is so wrong. haha
Milsap pre-draft measurements:
Height w/o Shoes Height w/shoes Weight Wingspan Standing Reach Body Fat No Step Vert Max Vert Bench Press Lane Agility 3/4 Court Sprint Class Rank
6' 6.25" 6' 7.25" 258 7' 1.5" 8' 9.5" 9.7 28.5 32.5 15 11.67 3.30 38
Blair's pre-draft measurement:
6' 5.25" 6' 6.5" 277 7' 2" 8' 10.5" 12.0 26.0 33.0 18 11.50 3.45 NA
Blair is hort by an inch, but.... has a one inch reach advantage!
Vertical leap and sprint about even.
Blair is heavier and stronger.
If Blair matches Millsap's success then we got a guy for $3.8m for four years that others are paying $32m (Millsap's latest contract). What a steal!
Bonner should make three times less than anyone except Vaughn, otherwise he should get crumbs.
