I've seen enough "trade Bonner/Finley/extras to (team) for (player)" posts that I need to set this straight. Does Finley have a right of refusal for trades in his contract? If so, it's hard to see him accepting a trade to Charlotte, OKC, or whatever.
If this thread is going to be clutter, please lock it and point me to the info. Thanks!
WHat exactly do you expect to get for him? He's a fine backup at SF. He can still make 3-pointers and his defense is ok.
IBTL....and 100 posts.
Finley is good for spot minutes, and he is proven to be a good player in the clutch.
I stopped believing that the name Finley and the phrase "spot minutes" could coexist a long time ago.
I don't remember asking for your opinion, but I'll give your thought the consideration it deserves.
All I wanted to know, thanks. Lock/remove thread, mods, if you'd like.
He can still make 3-pointers, that's true - not much else. And his defense IS NOT ok.
love your sig.
I agree with keeping Fin as a backup only...He did hit some clutch shots for us last season.
As for Bonner, I would trade him for cash!
Kobe owns the league's only no-trade clause.
Is that true? I thought a restricted free agent who signs with a different team has a certain period of time where he has a no-trade clause, i.e. - Hedo. I could be wrong, it is pretty late here.![]()
Finley is good just not guarding superstars.
Just one more year of Finley....just one more year...we will get through this together SPURS Fans!![]()
I have to disagree with you here. Finley's game seems to rely heavily on minutes. He just is not a player that can come right in and score. IF my memory severs me correctly the Sprus tried this a year or so ago but it turned out to be disastrous.
That being said Finely was, and still is one of my all time favorite players, but He and Pop need a thousand mile restrainment order.
So how does that make Mason not expendable in the eyes of Spurtalkers?
So when Finley goes, whos the next cool whipping boy?
Just curious.
I like Finley Off the bench, getting 15 mins a Game....... He can Still Shoot, and has Shown He Is very Clutch.....
It's hard to see the positive of another year of Finley. He hasn't been good at adapting. Jefferson is already a veteran. Behind Jefferson we should be developing young talent. But if he stays, most likely he'll be a positive personality to have on the team.
Finley can still slash to the basket and dunk....its just he rarely gets that play called for him. Finley is still good to takeover a couple of games in the playoffs.
parker/hill/williams
RJ/hairston/manu
finley/haislip
mcdyess/blair/bonner
duncan/mahinmi
how's that 2nd team look? quick and potent. good pace change from the up and down from TP and post up from timmy.
I'd trade him for $43 and a Twix.
