    The Los Angeles Clippers have reached an agreement in principle to trade guard Quentin Richardson to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Sebastian Telfair, Mark Madsen and Craig Smith, leagues sources said Monday.

    The trade is expected to be finalized later Monday. The Clippers had previously been in negotiations with free agent guards Ramon Sessions and Allen Iverson.

    Telfair is not a bad back up and Craig Smith is productive and they keep the expiring contracts except for Telfair who has a player option for ~2M next year.

    Mark Madsen is going back to LA. He was a fan favorite there with the Lakers. I'm sure they will be selling crazy amounts of season tickets now that he is back.

    One season under D'antoni made Richardson go from a rugged wing man who played tough defense and gets to the rim to a journeyman one dimensional three point chucker. Since that 2005 season his career has been a joke.

    True, I thought they would be a legit contender in 2007, they were returning the exact team they had in 2006 that almost made the WCF. Instead they inexplicably got worse.

    I like the move. Clippers are easily going to make the playoffs ahead of the Rockets and Suns for the 7th/8th seed, inspite of Dunleavy.
