I thought everything was owned by OCP...

Corporate interests including the health insurance and pharma interests, their trade groups and lobbyists, their bought and paid for republican congressmen, who are trying to kill health care reform....
It's pretty obvious from the ads being run in my local tv market that they want to kill health care. And just the other day, Sen. DeMint declared health care would be Obama's Waterloo. What more do you need to know that corporate interests want to kill even modest reform and defeat Obama here as Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo?
yeah that waterloo thing means that they are going to fight with everything they have to stop universal healthcare.
Because there couldn't possibly be any bought and paid for Democratic members of Congress. Partisans aside, it is possible to actually be opposed to that monstrosity without being an agent of whatever interest.
Anyways, can both sides lose? I guess that's too much to hope for.
Sorry, but losing is reserved to the general populace only.
rofl. you stole my punch line.
I voted in Obama because I thought he might stand up for civil liberties.
As it was, I got a President who was willing to throw them away, yet was willing to throw tons of money towards bank managers who said keeping the right people was absolutely necessary. Even though they're the same people that f***ed it up in the first place.
It's like I got the worst of both worlds! A politician too wishy-washy to stand up for progressive values, AND beholden to corporate interests! Huzzah!
Edit: Also, McCain seemed crazy and Palin seemed idiotic. I would've voted Paul if he just was intelligent enough to drop the R from his name.
Every election, it seems we only have choices between two evils. Wasn't it obvious with the bailout just before the elections that the democrats would continue down this asinine course?
Remember. Politicians lie to us to get elected. You have to look at their record. Not what they say. McCain was by far, the lesser of two evils. The only reason I didn't get sick voting for him was because I actually voted for Palin. Take away the negative media spin, and Palin is no idiot. Just a good 'ol country gal with some good common sense. She even had real executive experience, which Obama completely lacks except for the OJT he's getting now.
I don't think you're choosing at all. It simply appears that you do.
Meanwhile...UnitedHealth posts 154.9 percent profit increase...
Star TribuneDespite a continued drop in commercial members in the recession, UnitedHealth reported Tuesday better-than-expected earnings for the second quarter because of lower administrative costs and strong growth in its public-sector businesses, Medicare and Medicaid.
For the quarter ended June 30, UnitedHealth said net earnings were $859 million -- a 154.9 percent increase from $337 million a year earlier, when earnings were dragged down by big lawsuit settlement costs.
...
Hemsley cited the company's ongoing diversification as a strength. Early this week, UnitedHealth said it was acquiring the northeast subsidiaries of Los Angeles-based Health Net Inc. for about $510 million, bolstering its presence in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.
Last week, it announced a five-year contract worth $28.1 billion from the Defense Department to manage medical benefits for 3 million active duty and retired military service members and their families in the southern part of the country.
If you say so. I disagree, except for the cheating done by democrats.
Al Frankin... Give me a break...
exactly, health care has never been an issue to worry about for those dudes in congress whose accounts generally have a long line of zeros.
Obama cares more about his legacy of being THE president who brought the ever-increasing number of dependent broke ass whiteys government health care than how long your loved one will have to wait for a procedure that they used to be able to pay for and receive in a timely manner.
When really hits the fan, americans will remember the individual once again and begrudge their neighbor (the illegal ones too shoooowty) ahead of them in that dmv line. You'll see.
Just as people were ready to eat the endagered blue waterbeak when gas hit $4.00. It shall be so.
Haven't really been following the bill that's going around Congress but from what I gather nobody is going to be happy with the result.
