    Never too late to resolve those issues with your mother!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Clammy;
    Okay black interior, so what color is the exterior??? Do you have an sunroof and tinted windows??? What are you listening to your music on??? Not that this really maters.
    it's black on black (which is supposed to be rare, but how rare could it really be if it was on the showroom floor). sunroof, stereo that came standard (i'm actually drawing a blank on what kind, it was originally my wifes car but she wanted something smaller with better gas mileage).
    we use it for travel all the time, up and down the west coast. mileage is already past the warranty.
    it was me and the kid in it yesterday when some cylinders were not firing or mis-firing or whatever, and we thought it was going to blow. it was shaking so violently. i thought for sure the timing chain was going to break.
    it's on that list but it's not anywhere close to being the more expensive ones, and we got a great deal on it because we have a 20 year relationship with the dealer.
    however, they never cut me slack on repairs, but the service is fantastic.
    Even for a V12, platinum plugs, and high performance plug wires you got HOSED. I wouldn't call that fantastic service.
    It is silly to me that you are being so mysterious about the kind of car you drive- especially since it is the internet and have to take your word for it.
    I am grateful for the thread though since I am bored at work and it gave me something to read.
    Maybe he is embarrassed that the Jaguar dealership “stung” him for the V-12 that breaks down….
    Until you say the kind of car, I am calling BS.
    Even at a dealer it doesn't cost more than $100 for just an oil change.
    Thye must not have felt too bad since they charged you that much for new plugs and wires, and an oil change is more than $100.
    If you like throwing away money I han a old B&W Channel Master TV I'll sell you for $500. /sarcasm
    you don't have to get so upset. this is socal and the price is not that unusual. it's also past it's warranty. oil changes/brake pads on MB still cost the customer whether it's under warranty or not.
    Wow...
    I can get an oil change from the dealer for $40 to $50. I do it myself though for much less.
    Must be the fees for your oil recovery. Even at a dealer, it's only a few bux. Here, I take my waste oil to a local parts store and give it to them for free. Oil and filter... Wow, I forget, but I think it's about $25, and that's good oil. Castrol GTX. Not the best, but just fine for non race applications. I can see a filter and oil for a V-12 costing more like $35, maybe even up to $50 with top of the line oil. That's still too much in labor to pay.
    don't forget about the fancy copper washers that need replacing with every oil change, and there's no way i'd do it myself.
    and i think the R350 is a glorified pacifica.
    Well, for the last several years, Mercedes has been a bad buy. Consider from a Consumer reports article:
    Mercedes-Benz -- service reputation soon:
    Cut to 2007: they're still expensive, but the premium brand's shine is being further tarnished as its vehicles' reliability continues to decline. In the latest Consumer Reports Annual Car Reliability Survey, five of the ten models with the most reported problems overall are made by Mercedes-Benz. Further, the carmaker also captured another three spots within the worst 20 performers.
    The CL:
    The S:
    Or the SL:
    The way you scoffed at me calling a Z28 a sports car, I assume you have the SL, in the convertible version? One of these:
