The medal count is though. Even though Americans don't give a about that count, they still always ranked no.1 in most Olympics games prior to 08, where they got bored of that place and gave it to the country which really cared about that list.
Michael Phelps > Manu

There's only one foreign player that you could debate would beat out Dirk as the "Greatest Foreign Player Ever" and that's Arvydas Sabonis.
If you want to include Manu in that discussion, he's maybe a distant 3rd, but probably not. He might be in the top 5 though. You still have Petrovic and V-Span to discuss, of course.
And Pau Gasolina.
True. Damn, Manu probably isn't top 5 greatest foreigner ever.
1. Sabonis
2. Dirk
3. Petrovic
4. Gasol
5. V-Span
6. Schrempf
7. Chris Anstey
8. Manu?
isn't hakeem a foreigner though![]()
I would put Mike D'Antoni at 8 and Manu at 9.
Tim Duncan is from the Virgin Islands, chalk him up, and Steve Nash is from Canada. Not even top 10.
Kobe
LeBron
Wade
Paul
Duncan
Dirk
KG (even though he is slipping)
Carmelo
Dwight
Steve Nash
Yao (even though his career might be over, and he once got only one rebound)
Durant
Granger
Carter
D-Will
Tony Parker
Paul Pierce
Bosh
Gasol
Stoudemire
I could list more, but you get the point. Manu might be in the 30s range when it comes to best player.
he lost foreigner status when he had like 8 fun babies at the U of Houston.
As I already mentioned your sig is featuring an all time great foreigner M-V-Steve
I think he's a US citizen.
Manu Ginobili isn't the greatest foreign player on his team.
V-Span, Da Troof of Europe.
forgot Parker, not even 3nd best foreigner on his team with Duncan and Parker factored in.
Speaking of Hakeem, who the wrote this on his wiki page?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakeem_Olajuwon
Yeah, KG is a ing wizard on the low block. The Dream Shake was extremely difficult to defend, much like the sky hook of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.[7] The Dream Shake's closest modern equivalent comes from Kevin Garnett, whose moves have less variety and include some perimeter action

Read this you may learn something.
we all know what a respected journalist "jay aych" is.
great source, I'm sure "El Hombre" or whatever is credible.
That article was written in September of 2006 and he doesn't even mention Dirk in the foreign players section. By that point, Dirk had already been to the Finals and established himself as the best foreign player of all time. Dirk was a lock for the HOF even then and that guy didn't mention him. Just some blogger's opinion.
But Hakeem hasn't been a foreign for a lot of years, and he even represented US to play the Olympics in Sydney.
considering pure basketball skill and knowledge - Manu is king over all furiners and a lot of americanos tambien. And yes dumbasses - he will get in to the hof because of his success outside the NBA (sorry I didn't read the whole thread to figure out the schtick here.)
that Lakerfan got is a step behind in the conversation, Rogue, so you'll have to excuse him.
