Who reports that the Spurs are coming and going to give anyone trouble? They fly under the radar every year. There's like 4 articles on ESPN.com about the Spurs in the past 6 years. At least make your lies realistic.
Drew Gooden, the balance of power in the West didn't budge at all![]()
That's what you all like to believe but the guys on ESPN were talking about the Spurs being a major factor all year and being the team that could knock off the Lakers. That "Nobody talks about us" thing is way overrated. Everyone always mentions the Spurs as a team nobody is talking about which in turn makes them a team that is talked about quite a bit.
I meant meant they added him as a legit rotation guy and starter, before he was just a complete nobody for the most part.
OH come on. Normally you're a pretty unbiased poster, but NO Spurs fans here at Spurstalk (the realistic ones, I mean) were saying we were going to challenge L.A. after losing Ginobili. The WCF was a best-case scenario before that team was outed.
The day Ginobili went down, there were tons of "well next season will be fun" threads started. Most Spurs fans knew we weren't going anywhere.
But hey, if you think Ginobili wouldn't make a difference... I guess removing Gasol OR Odom from your team wouldn't make a difference either... except you'd have lost in the 2nd round to the Rockets.
I'm talking about all season before Manu officially went down, a ton of people were saying the Spurs were going to challenge LA. It didn't end up happening cause of injury, but that isn't the point. The point is that story of the Spurs knocking out the Lakers never mattered in the end, and that's what the threads about.
In saying the Spurs weren't doing without Manu I'm not talking about winning a couple of rounds, I'm talking about the whole thing. Even with Manu the Spurs were not getting past the Lakers, not because the Lakers were playing so amazing in the western playoffs but that the Spurs simply didn't have enough talent around the big three and I think the Spurs management agrees with me by all the moves they've made this off season.
There was talk about the Spurs not making the playoffs I remember. All the talk about Spurs being contenders in the West was because there were no other team that was even close, at least on paper.
Who knew a Rockets team with no McGrady and Yao Ming for half a series, and a dumb as a rock Nuggets team would pose that many problems for the Lakers?
at the pathetic attempts of troll baiting. poor laker fans barely got any bite.
