It was a stupid arrest of a stupid professor. Gates either had an agenda, or too big of an ego to just deal with the situation to get the police out of his castle.

It was at this time that I informed Gates that he was under arrest.

Like I said, its a minor offense. You pay a fine, hopefully learn your lesson and move on. Youre SUPPOSE to cooperate with police officers for the good of the community. Regardless of who you are or what color your skin is.
