Tim will always be the man on the Spurs!
Parker can score more points than Timmy, but the leader is still TD!

If you could only pick one of them to be on your team for the next season, who'd it be?
Tim all the way!
If we're just gonna do one season, gotta be Tim Duncan hands down.
Without Duncan, the Spurs are a decent team but not championship contenders whatsoever
Tony is right now the number one option on offense for the Spurs, but Tim's overall imprint on a game (scoring, inside prescence, shot blocking ability, leadership, etc.) makes him the most important player on the team IMO.
You may get surprised at how many Spurs fans will vote for Tony.
The Spurs have proven they can be good w/o Tony.....they went 7-3 w/o him last year. he's still a very good player but Tim is way more important.
I've gotten in several arguments with Spurs fans over this, I won't be surprised.
I think so too, but I already had lots of arguments on the Spurs section about who's more important to the Spurs right now.
Almost always, teams need a dominant low post player to be legitimate championship contenders, so Tim Duncan is obviously more important. But, Tony Parker is the better player right now.
DAF, you should have made a tony vs manu poll, it'd be closer.
It should have been "if Spurs had gotta lose either Tim or Tony to a career-ending injury, who's the guy you'd want to see done for his career?" Then Tim would get my pick, since dude has been sloping significantly and rapidly and is much older than Tony Longoria, though Tim has a career more brilliant to Longoria's.
I know, but I tried to make this game interesting. If I'd have put Manu on this, not even Bump's trolls would have prevent Gino from winning this whole thing.
Manu isn't on my top 16 list right now.
I don't think so. A few years ago it was Tim Duncan as clearly the best player with Tony and Manu in close compe ion as the 2nd and 3rd wheel, now it's Manu clearly as the 3rd wheel with Duncan and Parker being constantly debated as which one is the 1st and 2nd wheel.
The mookie crew would clearly vote for Manu. I am pretty sure they started the CoM.
I think that Spurs would have more chances to win the championship with Tim on the team and with Tony out. So I'd still rather watch Tim play 3 years, than Tony play 8 years.
Gino hasn't won any personal award in NBA, and you're talking about the NBA league rather than the re ed international games, then Gino is easily beaten by TL who was the NBA finals MVP back in 07. Besides, Longoria also has a big reputation in the international world.
I'd have definitely made a "Manu vs Tony" matchup if he were on my top 16 list.
Lakers aren't le contenders without Gasol, but you would never argue that Gasol is better than Kobe. Spurs can't win without Duncan, but Tony is the better player now.
He was the 6th man of the year! He was also on the 3rd All NBA team. And Manu is much, much, much more popular in the international world! Just look at all the awards Manu won for Argentina and for his European teams.
