That's fine, but the thing is that Bass wanted more burn than he could get in Dallas as Dirk's backup. I figure the only way we could've kept him was to outbid Orlando for him. Gooden is coming in to do Bass' role and he'll be off our books next year whether he plays well for us or not. Gooden is probably a better option for us based on that alone.

They didn't want to pay Bass $5 million a year for 4 years, which is what it would've required to keep him. Bass is a young guy playing the same position as Dirk. He wanted more PT and Orlando can give that to him. Gooden comes in and performs the Bass role and one way or the other he's off our books next summer.

Cuban would like to sell everything he has even including his brand pants to make his team as great as possible, and it's ludicrous some Spurs fan cares about the spend of someone else's money. Anyway Cuban's wife isn't a Spurs fan as far as I know.

I like Gooden. I was excited when he came to the Spurs, but I still worried about those times when he's just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He didn't get a good enough chance here to really tell if he was a bust or not, but we saw flashes of both his good and bad qualities on the court.

He'll score on the low post for Dallas, and that sucks because they've always beat us up on the inside as it is. But he'll still blow defensive assignments and be sporadic on the boards. Hopefully we've evened the distance enough on our front court enough to spot getting killed in the paint.

Good signing for the Mavs. He'll probably do more good than bad. But just wait for the bonehead move that undoes an important game.

Nope. Our owners have never had a problem with the lux tax. But it's a stupid business move nevertheless. If you can improve while staying under it, why not? We all know how spending always brings in les, huh Portland, New York, Dallas?

Cubus is a capital D-O-R-K in my book. I don't care how he spends his money one tiny bit except for the entertainment value. Our team gets a lot more for its money, so its an obvious example of a superior franchise. Even if we were spending the same on payroll our franchise is better. That we have done it for far less $ every year than the Mavs makes it that much more satisfying is all. That Cuban is a loud over the top DORK that made fun of S.A. makes it even better.
