Have the Spurs done a great job surrounding TD with quality players? Yes. Doesn't change the fact surrounding a once in a generation player with a good supporting cast is a lot easier than acquiring a once in a generation player.
Then explain why the Cavs haven't won ? Explain why Kobe couldn't make it out of the first round or even make the playoffs before Memphis hang gift wrapped Gasol. Explain how Garnett couldn't get out of the first round for so many years.

Explain and I'll be here listening.

No, a mediocre GM/coach gets you the same amount of rings Garnett was able to get before being traded to the Celts.
The ?????Tim Duncan in his prime was way better than Kevin Garnett.

The same amount Lebron has been able to get. The same amount Kobe was able to get until their GM lucked into the Gasol trade. The Lakers FO is mediocre. The same amount Dirk has been able to get. The same amount Amare and Nash have been able to get.
I can't believe you're putting Dirk/KG/Amare-Nash on par with Duncan, Kobe and Bron.

2 of your 3 best players are chronically injured. That's not exactly an ideal situation I'd like for my team to be in either.
I heard Tony Longoria also got injured some day ago, and the new recruited Jefferson also has a long history of injury.

Spurs fans see Brandon Bass a half-dozen times, and just because he has good games against the Spurs, they think he does that all year long against everybody.

Typical. Yeah, we get it, the Spurs are the center of the NBA universe and everyone else is just trying to stay in orbit.
    Dumbass troll generalizes Spurs fans.

Typical. Yeah, we get it, you have no life and nothing better to do but troll a Spurs forum. Got it.

Then explain why the Cavs haven't won ?

If they had David Robinson on the team when they drafted Lebron, they would have. If they luck into an incredibly weak era similar to 2005-2007, they'll win 1-2 championships right there.

I forgot about Blair, who most spurfan has already named him the second coming of Charles Barkley.

The ?????Tim Duncan in his prime was way better than Kevin Garnett.
So what, Garnett was an elite superstar in the same tier as Duncan. ting management decisions are the reason Garnett couldn't do in the playoffs. It's a 5 on 5 game not 1 on 5. no matter how good the player is.

I can't believe you're putting Dirk/KG/Amare-Nash on par with Duncan, Kobe and Bron.
KG, yes. Dirk, not the same level but close enough. Amare-Nash, that was a great tandem.

    Just give up already.

face is a sonics fan and the sonics are no longer a rival to Spurs, they are even not existing no more. And it's not too hard to imagine how pale the Spurstalk would be like if it only contained spurs fans. If someone is trolling on spurs forum, then dude should be a either a Mav fan or a Hornets fan, but no one would suspect him a fan of a team which no longer exists in the league.

Duncan getting 4 rings is about right. Garnett getting 1 feels right too. They're both great defenders, but you could run your offense thru Duncan late in a game, something you couldn't do with KG. I bet Duncan on the Wolves nets a championship. It's not that hard to come up with a decent supporting cast for Tim Duncan. KG on the Spurs???? Probably a championship, but no dynasty.

Can the posters in blue explain what they're arguing?

Are you guys upset that Spurs fans are dismissing the Gooden signing or upset that they're saying Bass is better?

Explain how my argument is weak. The fact is, when the Spurs got the #1 overall pick, they were nowhere near the worst team in the NBA. When the Cavs got the pick, they were by far the worst team in the NBA.

Your argument went from the Spurs tanked to the Spurs FO had no part in the continued success because players as good as Duncan could lead YMCA players to a le. I gave you examples of players on the same level as Duncan in his prime who weren't able or haven't been able to win les or have continued successes.

Now your argument is somewhere between here and north Korea.

If the Suns and the Spurs flip flop picks in 1987, the Suns easily have more championships than SA does. It's just luck of the draw, not one "superior franchise".

Get a ing clue. You can't buy championships in the NBA.

It's nice to see that Mark Cuban has found a way to activate the manic part of your psychological profile. Good luck with that.
That was exactly my point, Cuban is trying like to buy a championship and it can't be done. And he meddles with things he shouldn't and is an incompetent wanna-be. He's the last kid to get picked on the playground. Throwing his money around does not impress us simple folk from S.A.

I see that I have now driven you to a multi-post rebuttal and I am the manic one?

I appreciate that you agree with me on Cuban even if you won't come out and admit it completely. Sure you could do worse, that was not my point. I am going to turn in on that note, but I enjoyed the spirited exchange. You seem to be a decent sort, if a bit in denial. Peace and goodwill.

Neither. We're upset that you're ing stupid enough to think Bass has better basketball IQ than Drew Gooden while offering no proof.

Yes they were. They were on the same tier, elite superstars. Duncan would a bit better. That's it. His legacy will be bigger because he was able to win more les with lesser talent than Garnett.

He doesn't zone out and forget what play the team is running.
    Yes he does.

He won't completely forget to guard his man.
    Yes he will.

He doesn't try to use a skill he doesn't process and force ugly low post shots.
    Yes he does.
