Much better.
Cool song about Jim Morrison
About Romeo & Juliet
About the French revolution, but adopted by the AIDS movement.
I guess you wouldn't call this a melancholy song, but it makes me cry to listen to it because of a very moving experience a friend of mine had. She walked in the... I can't remember what he calls it, but the Lance Armstrong marathon in Austin. At the finish line, they had performers and JoDee Messina sang this song... and it started raining. My friend said she was surrounded by survivors who just started bawling.
Here's a song that I've always found to be especially melancholy. The year is 1931 and Jimmie Rodgers, 'The Father of Country Music' and one of the greatest stars of his day, is dying of tuberculosis. At the age of 33, his body had already begun to give up. He recorded this song in downtown San Antonio and died from the disease just two years later.
