For Mono to get on to Buddy Holly's black fetish, he sure has alot of Non Nba Blackmen in his avatar.
I mean he's the one that actually thought of black men when he read the word butt plug.
Real gay stuff.
And apparently that life includes answering to the name " bait".

I didn't know he had one. As far as I know, he only expressed his anal penetration fetish.
I haven't watched Gooden very much but did watch Bass a lot. Bass has a very nice jumper and is very aggressive going for a dunk. But he has almost no post moves at all. So I was comparing Bass/Gooden on 82games.net and wondered if I could get a comment on these stats. I'm looking at where they got their shots and efg%. Are my assumptions correct, that gooden has a much more polished post-up game, but not an automatic jumper? That might be why pops wanted to let him go, duncan is going to get those post-up minutes.
For the mavs he'll get the post-up minutes that dampier (or bass) can do anything with.
I was looking at the 82games stats for gooden/bass and something really jumped out at me when comparing their close up work. Brandon is a better jump shooter but gooden seems to have much, much better post moves.

Close - Bass - 23% taken, efg% 38%, blocked 29%
Close - Gooden - 32% taken, efg% 67%, blocked 9%.
Dunks - Bass - 16% taken, efg% 90%, blocked 4%
Dunks - Gooden - 5% taken, efg% 100%, blocked 0%.
Inside - Bass - 41% taken, efg% 57%, blocked 18%
Inside - Gooden - 42% taken, efg% 64%, blocked 7%.
He appears to be a much better post player than brandon. Brandon was a very good spot-up shooter but lacked any cleverness around the basket. No hook shot at all for example, he needs one.
Come on man, this has gone on all night and you're ing the thread up. What does this have to do with making fun of the Mavs for getting the Gooden booby prize and/or wishing Drew well other than when he plays against us?
Pretty much IMO a swap of Bass for Gooden.
Gooden is the better player however. Nice move.
Findawg regulated this thread with one post.

I would love to see Gooden beat Dampier for the starting job. Damp guards Duncan pretty well so if he's out of the picture it's all good.
Gooden won't give the Spurs fits like Bass did. Gads, he was a handful.
Having said that I think it's a solid signing for the Mavs. A bit overpaid but it's for only 1 year. He gives them a legit low post option on offense. Defense is a whole other matter though.
I wish gooden wasn't going to the Mavs because now he's prime hate material. But that should be no problem for lots of people on ST.
I was wondering if the 1 year deal might actually be a bad thing for Dallas; my understanding is a team gets 1 MLE to use every year. For example, we signed McDyess to a 3 year MLE deal this year, but we'll get to use another MLE deal next summer if we want to. Since Dallas only signed Gooden to a 1 year deal, if he performs well or at least decently, in order to keep him they'd probably have to use next years' MLE, instead of being able to use an MLE deal on someone else if they'd signed Gooden to a 2 or 3 year deal.
And I glanced at the Mavs' salaries in 2010; even if they let Gooden and Dampier expire, they'd be around $60 million in salary (Hoopshype shows a salary of $58 million including Dampier's $13, but not including Marion and Kidd's combined $16 million cost http://hoopshype.com/salaries/dallas.htm). If you subtract Dampier's deal and add in Kidd's and Marion's deals, it comes out to around $60 million, which I believe is already over the cap. This is where not having the extra MLE to use on someone besides Gooden could hurt, especially since they might be losing Dampier in this scenario as well.
It has been mentioned that Dirk might opt out and take a pay cut to help them out, but it would have to be pretty massive to get under the cap and to add anyone of value, especially with the salary cap estimated to drop to around $53 million or less (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4312837).
Can Dampier's expiring contract (assuming he doesn't meet the 30 minute game average) be traded after this next season, or would it expire as soon as the season's over with?
No, they could re-sign with the non-bird exception to a MLE like deal.

My gosh this gets complicated. Thanks for the link.
Dude is certainly underrated, Damp attended 80 games last season averaging nearly 6 points per game along with over 7 rebounds per night in relatively limited time, which was only slightly over 20 minutes. If Gortat can drop 12pts y 14 boards per game when given 30 minutes per night, then I'm pretty confident Damp would also reap double-doubles night in and night out if dude also got 30+ minutes. Damp is obviously an above-average center, his salary is a little bit exaggerated but dude isn't a very terrible player, I mean at least, dude can still play games unlike someone else that will take almost 15m dollars from his team next season without playing even one minute of time.
I wish Gooden The Best....... but You Guys Can have Him...... He didnt play in crunch time Situations for A Reason...... Honestly He is One of the worst Defenders for A Big Man that I have seen...... I still know we Got the better of the deal.... Mavs Fans Act like They Stole Gooden From us, Lol..... He was Our Leftovers, We didnt want him.... we have a full roster already.... Plus Just remember, we did Steal Finley From You Guys, And Finley Got A Ring...... Do The Mavs Have any of those??? Gooden, Should Fit right in with Dirk.... 2 Big men who cant defend to save there Lives..... Good Luck with Gooden
^ what a ty post.
I'm not reading all this thread but I just want to throw out my two cents..."bull ."
ty, to Mavs Fans....... But The Truth.......
Yea that big guy who can't defend took someone out last year however.
Tim Duncan doesn't play for the Mavs!![]()
I've already said why I think this is a decent move for Dallas, but I still can't help butat Mav Fan who is talking smack now because of Drew freaking Gooden.
We know you're happy your team did SOMETHING, but this isn't like the second coming of the Pau Gasol coup or anything. And the Spurs found that out quick.

Yeah, give the ing ellipses a rest.
No basketball knowledge, just perfect for the Mavericks.
Mavericks are offensive juggernauts again.
17 pages for Gooden playing for the mavs ???
Anything Spurs/Mavs is guaranteed a good run on ST.
