What ARE his policies that affect TX economic performance?
Do you believe that Texas has not faced the full wrath of the recession due to Perry's policies?
And should I support him if this is true?
What ARE his policies that affect TX economic performance?
I was hoping people would answer the questions with answers not more questions.
Your question has no meaning without Perry's specific policies, which you apparently don't know.
The thing about Perry and any other governor of former confederate states is that he has no real power outside of a veto. He doesn't write the executive memos and the like. During reconstruction, governors were appointed by the north so the southern states wrote their cons utions to give the governor as little power as possible.
He takes credit for a lot of what goes on but he is pretty much a glorified cheerleader. Thats why you see him going on the national stage and making these claims of 10th amendment or secession and then the Texas congress turns around and takes all the stimulus money it can and then doesn't use the money set aside to do things on its own.
It was just a question, if you don't have a real answer, then don't post.
Well we all know to ignore buffoon and chumpdump since they only know how to answer with more questions.
this has been the weirdest thread in spurstalk history.
Boutons defending republicans, and Neocons and CBF on the same side.

The lieutenant governor in Texas holds more power than the governor does.
just asking questions, i wasn't trying to make any point
i don't know whether or not the premise is true, thats why I was asking a question
seems like most agree that perry doesn't do in regards to economic policy of the state
No and No.
Although he may be better than Princess Kay.
his mandatory HPV vaccine and drug testing for all high school athletes was what saved us
Longest serving governor in state history. He must be doing something right.
Get that man ready for the White House!!
Perry/Cornyn in 2012!
And you can't name a single thing.
I'm 47, and my most fervent hope and prayer is that we never see another Bush OR another TX guv in the White House in my lifetime.
Perry/Palin or Palin/Perry sounds good to me.
Still, no wrongies or Perry suckers can name a SINGLE ECONOMIC TX POLICY OR PROGRAM attributable to Perry.
Faith-based politics, as effective as faith-based religion.
Any state that elects a ignorant, incompetent, inexperienced, failed-businessman puppet like dubya as governor isn't really serious about the office.
Actually, the Repugs ARE serious, but serious about the governor not getting in the way of the real powers in the state.
I'm sure it sounds good to Obama, too.
A lot of those appointments were because Bush managed to charm the state Legislature into giving them to him. And way to many of those appointments do not have legislature oversight.
Perry has more power than any Governor before him (officially, I'm not talking clout here), and it's still pretty much piddily
If you want to thank someone/thing for Texas better than average economic state, thank the Legislature and the State Cons ution that makes it hard as to make any major changes.
Me too!
it's hard to say, but looking at the dallas skyline, i always tell myself "what recession". there was a story here that dallas hired all the cranes that could be rented in the states. some companies had to import them. i'm not financial genius like a lot of people are here, but that sounds like something is going right.
yes I agree. it's a great ticket..!
