Angels lose.![]()
holy !!!!! Victor Martinez just hit a 3-run HR in the top of the 9th, and the Indians take a 7-6 lead. I'm trying not to get my hopes up though because it wouldn't surprise me in the least for the Angels to come back and win. It would be typical with the way the last week has gone for them.
edit: Peralta! back-to-back! 8-6!
This is my favorite season in a long time.![]()
Just got off the phone with a Rangers Exec and he told me they are actively looking for a Starting Pitcher, but that Roy Halladay doesn't seem likely. Cliff Lee has been rumored too, but that the Indians want to much.
He told me they'll look at a mid-level starter, some one who can help out at the back of the rotation that won't cost a lot.
As far as hitters, he told me he doesn't see any moves there. The Rangers feel confident in their hitters.
He also pointed out that the Hicks money problem won't restrict them from making a move if they need to. The next couple of days will dictate that.

i was at this one tonight.
one of the fastest games i'd ever been too which is a good thing.
Too bad the Injuns couldn't pull out a win tonight.Oh well...let's just keep on winning.
Why don't you have anything in your sig gloating about the Rangers championships????
Oh, nevermind.
Nobody is trolling your Dodgers thread so stfu.
I was asking him a serious question but then I realized the Rangers have never won .
No need to get all butt hurt.
Exactly..we haven't won ...so why the would you try to troll this thread? Is it in your genes to be an insecure fan, basketball or baseball? I mean seriously...who put a quarter in your ass and told you to talk? Please return to the bandwagon department.
Hopefully Kins is OK.
This team is hardcore beatup.
Tommorow I don't expect a win with Verlander on the hill, but still winning the series against a damn good Tiger team is good stuff.
Just have to win the games. The schedule will be tough but just gotta keep playing balls out.
I'm not butthurt, just pointing out that you came into a good thread with excited fans and failed in trying to on it with your pathetic ways. At least we Rangers fans are tried and true and stick by our team even when they haven't won a championship. Can't say the same of all teams' fans.
On the bright side the Red Sox lost, so our win didn't go un-rewarded. Only 1.5 games back of them now. Keep it up Rangers!!
And yet here we are, talking about and cheering on our team despite no past successes.
I don't think it was a failed attempt. Multiple people are very upset and trying to get back at me. I'd say that it was a great success, if I was actually trolling. But I wasn't trolling, just asking Spursfan09880928 why his arrogant sig had nothing about the Rangers and then it hit me.
wouldnt go that far

OK Rangerholics, just got off the phone with an Rangers Exec. and they are in discussions with the Blue Jays about Halladay, but consider them a wild card. Halladay may not accept a trade to Texas.
Another pitcher as I mentioned yesterday, mid-level starter on their radar is Jarrod Washburn. He told me though that after seeing what the Mariners did today via trades that he feels, the Mariners still think they're in it.
I still don't think the Rangers make the BIG deal. If they do it'll be last minute/mid-night hour kind of deal.

The Rangers don't need guys like Halladay IMO. They just need guys like Doug Davis and others that will give you 6 innings and give up 3 to 4 runs.
They also need a BAT. I know its hard to believe the Rangers need a bat but IMO, they need a bat due to Hamilton's HORRIBLE slump right now.
A guy like Scott Rolen, Josh Willingham, or Adam Dunn would be VERY welcome.
Dunn would be perfect for the DH role.
Rangers aren't making any deals, Jon Daniels and Nolan Ryan have all but said that. Tom Hicks is in the crapper financially and adding millions of dollars to the payroll is definitely not on his "to do" list. As of right now the Rangers might have the most dire financial crisis of any MLB team. They will not do anything that will cost them money.
The Rangers are gonna stand pat until Hicks sells the team (hopefully to an owner with a clue) and then maybe next year they can be buyers in the trade market.
so let's see...a trophy being proud of my teams for their championships is arrogant? Get a life..lol..what a loser. So, you've never worn a Lakers shirt after they won the championship? You have no Lakers memorabilia at all? Because that would be just as arrogant. I'm proud of what my teams have accomplished. If you're not, that's fine, but don't talk about me because I am.
face
Not necessarily true. Although Hick does have some financial issues, especially with his English soccer club, Daniels has said, not only to me, but others, that they are in the hunt and that adding payroll to this club want effect the bottom line.
As I stated above, the Rangers are the sleeper right now for Halladay. They have the prospects, but again, Halladay had a no-trade clause and may not accept the deal.

Roy Halladay is a pipe dream anyways. If the Rangers were serious about making a run, they'd get another bat in the lineup. They'd be going for Nick Johnson or Adam Dunn. But they're not, because they have no money to do so. The Rangers won't be making any deals that add payroll, bottom line.
Even in a successful year, Tom Hicks finds a way to it all up. I can't wait for that asshole to sell the team.
I think going after guys like Doug Davis, and others that are solid starters is whats needed. Not guys like Halladay.
Now making a trade for a Willingham, or Dunn (you could hide Dunn at DH or first base)
The talk of trading for Troy Glaus is absolutely the wrong move, as a Cardinals fan we knew he was done for the year back in January when the a-hole finally decided to have surgery.
He cant throw the ball across to first from third, his hitting his mediocre and now he's having back trouble.
A guy like Freddy Sanchez would've been perfect to put at third and then move Younger to first.
That being said, I doubt they make a move due to their money problems and while it sucks, totally understandable.
Now I know FACE doesn't like to hear this, but I'm going to provide the information any way.
I just got off the phone with the Rangers Exec who told me that, believe it or not, the Roy Halladay trade is starting to pick up steam. I ask him, for you FACE, if the Tom Hicks situation would stand in the way, and he told me that Major League Baseball is backing them, so that they could make the trade. MONEY IS NOT A PROBLEM, is what he told me.
So, that being said, the Rangers are right there in the wild card hunt and adding a guy like Halladay will help his chances as the Red Sox and Yankees beat up on themselves.
