Dwayne Wade is a balla
I just have a quick question.... We all know Wade wants to stay in Miami but only if they are contenders or Wade views them as contenders. People always say Pat Riley would never trade Beasley at this point in time but that brings up an interesting question. See I think this Boozer to miami thing is all a load of crap, and I think he will ultimately go to a place such as chicago who has more to offer than Miami. It is known that the jazz want nothing from the heat other than Beasley. The question is do you trade Beasley if it helps Wade to sign an extention??If what wade wants is a front court of odom and Boozer do you pull the trigger to appease wade?? If Wade is ready to give up Beasley should that be the Heats stance??
If my franchise player tells me to trade someone.. its probably going to happen
I would imagine if Wade were to give an ultimatum, they'd have to do things his way, seeing as he could choose to just leave the team next year.
Says the Kobe fan.
lol Kobe "I want to be traded" Bryant
Also, Wade + Boozer > Beasley, so obviously I'd do it so keep Wade, and so would Riley
beasley should be a great trade chip for miami. he can be good but probably still needs a while to put everything together. i don't think wade wants to wait for beasley to become a legitimate second option.
Someone who lives in the glass house of Kobe The Crying Game 2007 Bryant probably shouldn't throw these kinds of stones.
I don't think they are going to trade Beasley for a one year rental of Boozer or Amar'e. Plus, both these guys get injured amazingly easily. Boozer also proved he would jump ship for more money before. So, I believe for Riley, he would prefer to keep Beasley and use Jermaine O'Neal's expiring contract + 1st rounder to get a productive swingman and defensive center or let O'Neal expire. Also Beasley has the potential to be better than Boozer and Amar'e and still has 3 years of rookie contract left.
the point is that it would not be a rental for boozer.. they will own his bird rights and therefor will have money to sign one more top tier free agent in 2010. riley said as much . Yes, Beasley is on a rookie contract and yes he could very well end up being very good. The problem is Wade is entering his prime years and has made it known he wants immediate help NOW in order to resign with miami, in other words he is not willing to wait on a michael beasley. Thats what I take out of what I heard. Has nothing to do with player projections, and more to do where players are now.
Unless you surrender bird rights, the player will count against your cap 1.5 times his previous amount until you surrender his rights or re-sign him. You cannot go through this loophole anymore. The NBA fixed it.
Obviously, I doubt either side would do it.
So I guess all these articles are wrong along with the fact that pat riley told season ticket holders the benefit of getting boozer now would be to get his bird rights and being able to sign him to an extension which will allow them to still have enough money to sign another big free agent next summer. what loophole are you talking about? this is not making sense to me?Well, the Heat have just that scenario – acquiring Boozer now would mean the Heat would retain Boozer’s “Bird Rights”. The Heat can re-sign Boozer at whatever price they want without affecting the salary cap.
Beasley's per 36 numbers were actually really good last year - better than Odom's, who Wade is currently obsessed with. He has a ways to go defensively - but he'll get better in that regard...Boozer will always be one of the worst in the league.
Spoelstra should be fired for only playing him 24 mpg in what was obviously a rebuilding year.
